Go Through NCERT Textbooks

Aspirants who have taken the exam earlier this month and top performers of CUET 2024 have already stressed how important it is to go through NCERT textbooks in this final lap. Test takers have themselves noticed a trend wherein questions are directly based on concepts in NCERT textbooks.Hence, it would be ideal for you to just go through NCERT textbooks at this time, with sole focus on understanding basic concepts of the subject, for example, in case of Accountancy, key topics are the Golden Rule of Accounting, Types of Accounts, Partnership Accounts and you should have an in-depth understanding of all of them to ace the exam.

Revise Thoroughly

As a matter of fact, CUET has a vast syllabus. Hence, students need to revise key concepts regularly from CUET Syllabus 2025 without fail. You can also dedicate a day separately in the week for revision only, and in that time, you should sit with your handwritten notes and concept summaries that you prepared earlier on your journey. You can also go through YouTube videos or lectures for quick revision from time to time. Thus, the concepts would stay fresh and at the top of your mind every single day.

Solve Previous Year Questions (PYQs)

Once you are done learning a concept, you should always put that to the test by trying to solve CUET Previous Year Questions (PYQs). They will not just provide you with a practice ground but will also help you analyze the question pattern and the difficulty level that can be anticipated in the real exam. There are plenty of sources from which you can access the PYQs. Some prefer downloading the same from Google, while others purchase textbooks containing the previously asked questions over the years. Proceed however you feel comfortable, but make it a habit to attempt and solve regularly.

Take Mock Tests Regularly

Like Previous Year Questions (PYQs), mock tests also provide a practice ground to aspirants before the real exam. However, the key distinction that separates the two is that mock tests provide a timed environment that trains the brain to function under stress. Also, mock tests help students practice and get familiar with the exam interface, and hence CUET toppers advise aspirants to take at least 10 mock tests per subject before the real exam begins. Many students make the mistake of taking the mock test at the end of the preparation and hence fail to make the most of these, something that you should certainly avoid. Ideally, you should start taking them with around 80% of your preparation and analyse your strengths, weaknesses, performance, etc. in each of the mock tests thoroughly.

Practice Time Management

With lengthy RC passages continuing to appear in the actual papers over the years, working on your comprehension and time management skills is crucial. While practicing, you should develop a mental clock that allows you to dedicate a certain time to a particular question and hints you to move on, if you are caught up midway or fail to solve it altogether. Remember, selecting the right questions and leaving the difficult ones also matter significantly in a highly competitive exam like CUET 2025, and hence, you should be okay to let go of a question and attempt the next one so as to ensure that you don’t miss out on easy scoring opportunities.

Prepare for English and General Test Sections

Many students either take the language and general test sections lightly or don’t have a clue about how to prepare for them altogether, and you should avoid both of these mistakes if you want to crack CUET 2025. Here’s what you can do:

  • Read English editorials daily to improve comprehension and vocabulary.
  • Maintain a vocabulary journal, where you add in 5 new words a day with meanings and usage.
  • Play Sudoku on your mobile phone or solve puzzles by reading newspapers to strengthen your reasoning skills.
  • Try to do mathematical calculations like profit and loss or speed and distance in real-life scenarios.
  • Tune in to news channels to stay updated on recent happenings.

Bonus Tip: You can also refer to certain YouTube channels for daily learnings, tests and questions on both of these sections to prepare better.

Master the Art of Elimination

CUET follows a multiple-choice questions (MCQs) exam pattern, and hence it is important to learn to eliminate wrong options rather than finding the right ones. With regular practice and right strategy, you can master this technique as well. Here are some tips that might help:

  • Read options carefully before answering
  • Eliminate the options that are out of context or otherwise
  • Avoid overthinking & stick to what the question is asking

Train your mind to think this way. Initially, you would require a bit of practice but as soon as you are done with it, your speed and accuracy would improve in a jiffy.

Follow Your Daily Timetable

Stress, anxiety, and overthinking are common things during the exams, and you keep all of them at bay just by following your daily timetable. All you need to do is sleep on time, wake up on time, study, eat, rest and relax. You might need to cut off slacking with your friends at times, but you can still connect & spend some time together to chill & relax. This would fix your body clock and would help regulate stress hormones, leading to better study and performance in CUET 2025.

Eat Healthy

As simple as it seems, eating healthy, home-cooked, nutritious food is important to keep your mind and body active during your CUET exam preparation. Try avoiding processed, fast-food/junk food from local eateries during this time as a slight illness can lead to a drop in energy levels and your recovery might derail your preparation and dream altogether.

Keep Your Mindset in Check

Last but not least, your mindset plays a massive role. As said earlier, CUET 2025 Preparation isn’t a sprint — it’s a marathon. There will be days when your scores dip or motivation fades, and it’s important to maintain calm and composure on days like these. Here are simple tips to put your mind at ease:

  • Practice meditation and mindfulness to realize how far you have come.
  • Take a break to walk in the park or listen to your favorite music.
  • Rest and relax to recharge and rejuvenate.

Final Words

To sum it up, studying smarter, not harder, is the key to cracking CUET. Focus on NCERT textbooks, do PYQs, take ample mock tests, revise timely, and believe in yourself to stay ahead of your peers and perform to the best of your abilities during the examination.
