JEE MAIN 2024 Counseling : Check JoSAA Schedule, Procedure and More

The JoSAA will soon release an official notification regarding the JoSAA Counseling Session 2024 at the official website i.e., josaa.nic.in. The JEE Main 2024 Counseling registration is expected to initiate from 10th June to 15th June 2024 on their official website. Only JEE Main 2024 qualifying students will be able to participate in the JEE Main 2024 Counseling Session. Candidates need to register themselves in order to participate in the JEE Main Counseling Process.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is responsible for conducting the JEE Main 2024 Counseling in 6 rounds. Qualified candidates with JEE MAIN valid score are eligible for admission to IITs, NITs, and GFITs. Candidates are required to register online and fill in their preferred institution and branch choices in order to participate in the Counseling session. Candidates will have the choice to choose from 23 IITs, 31 NITs, and 25 GFITs to get admission.
Seat allotment is completely based on candidates' choices filled by them during JoSAA 2024 Counseling Registration. However, students must check the JoSAA eligibility criteria before applying for the Counseling process.

JEE Main 2024 (JoSAA) Eligibility Criteria for Admission
Candidates are recommended to recheck the following eligibility criterias if they qualify for admission to participating IITs, NITs, and GFITs and other institutions.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission to IITs, NITs, GFITs, SFIs
As per JoSAA authorities, students will be eligible for admission to B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Planning courses in IITs, NITs, SFIs, and GFITs based on their AIR (All India Rank). And students must’ve qualified their class 12 examination with a minimum of 75% marks (65% marks for SC / ST candidates).
Eligibility Criteria for B.Arch / B.Planning Admission
Potential B.Arch students need to pass their qualifying exams with at least 50% marks in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics and 50% in the aggregate of the qualifying examination. For B.Plan, students must’ve passed their class 12 or similar qualifying exam with a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% in aggregate of the qualifying exam.
JEE MAIN 2024 Counseling Procedure
The JEE MAIN 2023 Counseling Procedure consists of various steps. Candidates are required to complete every step in order to participate in the JEE MAIN 2024 Counseling Session. Candidates can follow the given steps below -
Enter the login credentials such as JEE Main 2024 application number, password, and security pin.
Students need to read the instructions carefully and click on the ‘I Agree’ option.
The JoSAA Counseling form will display on the screen.
Candidates need to fill the form with required details & documents and click on ‘Confirm Registration’ option.
Step 2 : Choice filling of Preferred Institutions and Course
In this step, students are required to choose their preferred college / institution and course preferences. And according to candidates choices, seats will be allotted accordingly. Steps to choose college and course preferences are as follows -
Candidates need to select their college and course preferences on the online registration form.
They can also opt for edit/ change/ delete choices and then verify and lock their preferences.
Students will also be able to lock the preferences after each round of Counseling.
Step 3 : JEE Main 2024 Seat Allotment Process
JEE Main 2024 Seat Allotment majorly depends on the ranks secured by the candidates in the JEE Main 2024 examination. Candidates will be allotted their seats finally after they pay the requisite admission fee and report to the allotted institute as per the specified dates.
Step 4 : Admission Fee Payment
Students are required to pay the admission confirmation fee to finalise their allotted seat in their preferred college and course. Candidates can pay the requisite amount through Net Banking / e-Challan. A provisional admission letter will be issued to the students after they verify their documents and pay the admission fee.

Step 5 : Document Verification
Candidates are required to carry the required documents to the JoSAA 2024 Reporting Centre for Document Verification. Students' candidature might get canceled, in case they miss or fail to provide all the necessary documents to the allotted centre in time. They are also recommended to keep multiple printouts of the documents for verification and seat confirmation.
