Lok Sabha on August 30, 2012, passed a bill for the establishment of AIIMS College in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, and Rajya Sabha on 4 September 2012. The president of India received this asset on 12 September 2012 and it became operational in September itself.
The purpose of establishing AIIMS Raipur is to provide better health facilities to the people with the right knowledge and guidance.
AIIMS Raipur campus is spread on 100 acres of land. The campus has hospital laboratories with hostel facilities and guest houses. At AIIMS Raipur, the anatomy department was the first department that was established.

Admission Process
The admission process for AIIMS Raipur is based on the entrance exam. Students have to appear for NEET and clear their examinations with good scores to be admitted to AIIMS Raipur.
- Students have to first qualify for their 12th standard with at least 60% of the scoring.
- And then qualify for the NEET examination with a good score.
- The admission process for AIIMS Raipur is merit-based.

The method for selection in AIIMS Raipur is completely based on how a candidate performed during the entrance MCQ-based exam. The cutoff for MBBS and BDS courses based on the NEET UG courses has been released by the AIIMS Raipur. For the NEET UG course 2024, the cut-off has been released. It was released as the opening and closing of the OBC, SC, ST, EWS, and PWD categories. This time until 30 October, 4 times of NEET counselling has been scheduled. A candidate who scores well according to the desired criteria gets a scholarship during their education.
