College of Art is an institution of advanced training in visual art ( Creative and Applied ) leading to the Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree of the University of Delhi, providing advanced training in Master in Fine Arts course (except art history), established in 1942.
The College is under the Faculty of Music & Fine Art, University of Delhi, for all academic matters and wholly administered by the Govt. of NCT Delhi.
They provide advanced courses including Applied Art, Art history, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and visual communication with an emphasis on studio practicals, prescribed theory subjects, and research in selected fields.
It aims to prepare the students for creative and applied responsibilities in the world of art and design. In its of existence of nearly 67 years, the College has gradually grown to ensure an exalted position in the teaching of fine art in the country and comparable to any other art institution in the world.

The college of Art makes it its endeavour in its academic programs to take account of what has happened in the past, to be alive to the present and plan for the future.the foundation courses is an intensive one year study at the first year level which is common to the specialisations of painting, sculpture applied art, printmaking and visual communication providing basic training in art and design.
It is introduced as an inter-related, quality important subjects which include Drawing, colour, clay modelling, printing, geometry & perspective, material and tools and exercise in form, aesthetics and concepts, all of which are designed to promote visual and textual sensitivity, formal perception and manual neat handedness. - Payment of foreign students registration fee of UF $ 400 for candidates seeking admission to postgraduate courses including post-diploma courses.
Admission Admission for BFA Admission to undergraduate BFA will be based on the merit score that will be based on the ‘CUET score (50% weightage) and Practical-based test score (50% weightage)’ Candidates must appear in both CUET and the Practical-based test. Admission procedure
- Admission to the BFA program is through the CSAS portal only.
- Candidates should visit their CSAS dashboard regularly for allocation, payment of fees, and other updates.
- The merit list of successful candidates will also be published on the admission portal of the College of Art
85% of the sanctioned intake shall be allocated to the NCT of Delhi. 15% of the sanctioned intake shall be allocated for Outside NCT of Delhi.
Required document
- Senior School Certificate or equivalent along with mark sheet/ provisional, Age certificate.
- For SC/ST/OBC/EWS/CW/PwBD/KM/FN &H & SI category candidates, a certificate from the competent authority, in the candidates’ name.
- Passport photograph.
- Candidates who passed from National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) are required to submit the proof of the last qualifying examination centre ( class XII) the location of examination centre will determine the category (D) Delhi or (OD) Outside Delhi.
- Self attestation by the candidates is mandatory.
- Class 10th & 12th marks/Mark sheet/ Certificate.
Admission for MFA The admission to post graduate (MFA) courses are merit-based, that is, based on marks scored in Bachelor of fine arts degree (BFA-Regular Mode) final year relevant specialisation. Eligibility for all specialisations is 50% or more marks in the aggregate.
- Concession of 5% marks (45% in aggregate) in the minimum eligibility requirement will be allowed to:-
- For scheduled caste, scheduled tribe candidates
- For widows and/or children of armed personal/ para military forces
- For wards of Kashmiri Migrants
Admission procedure
- Seeking admission have to download the application form only from the college website.
- Pay fee of Rs. 500/- for General/OBC and Rs. 250/- for SC/ST and person with disabilities, hearing and speech impaired category through online on college website.
- Submit the fee receipt online at the time of submission of the filled up application form.
- Once the application form fee is paid, no fee will be refunded by the college of Art whether the application form is submitted/ accepted or not.

- Bachelor of fine arts degree in the relevant specialisation of four year duration offered by the university of Delhi after 10+2 or equivalent examination exam mark sheet.

- Proposed programme of study analysed and projected through a report supported with visuals/slides/references etc.

Scholarship:
The college awards merit and merit-cum means scholarship of Rs.75/- per and 10% respectively of the total number of candidates as per rules; this is, however, subject to a month up to 5% the sanction of the Government of NCTD.
- Candidates securing 75% and more shall be placed in first division with distinction
- And 60 to 74.4% in First Division
- And 50 to 59.4% in second division
- And 40 to 49.4% in third division
