Candidates are required to check their eligibility criteria before applying for the application form. Candidates must fulfil the below mentioned eligibility criteria for 3-year Diploma courses in Engineering and Technology.
Residential proof
- The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam. (Except son/daughter of Central Govt. Employees).
- To avail Central Govt. Employee quota- the candidate must not be a permanent resident of Assam. The wards of employees who are posted in Assam for less than 20 years before the last date of submitting application are eligible to apply.
Educational qualification
The candidates must have passed the HSLC or its equivalent examination in a single sitting (without grace marks in science and mathematics and also had to pass both theory and practical/ internal assessment individually with mathematics and science as compulsory subjects with minimum of:
- 40% of average marks in mathematics and science- for general candidates.
- 35% of average marks in mathematics and science- for SC candidates.
- 33% of average marks in mathematics and science - for ST candidates.
Age limit
- Maximum age of the candidates is 20 years 6 months as on 31st day of December of the year in which the admission is sought for.
- Provided that the maximum age limit is relax able by 3 years in case of a candidate belonging to the SC/ST category and 5 years in case of person with disability.
Physical Fitness (optional)
- Candidates must be physically fit. A candidate will have to produce a fitness certificate at the time of admission from a registered medical practitioner as per enclosed format.
Eligibility for sports quota
- The candidate must be a medal winner of state games/ state championship/ tournaments organised by Assam Olympic Association/ state sports association/ directorate of sports & youth welfare, Assam and will be decided in order of medals of gold/ silver/ bronze received.
Eligibility for NCC quota
- Selection of candidates for NCC category would be considered in order of merit as per NCC examination certificate received from the Commanding officer, National cadets corps or higher level.
