Banaras Hindu University Undergraduate Entrance Test (BHU UET-2025)

Candidates are evaluated on topics related to their selected course, including the arts, sciences, commerce, and law, in this extremely demanding exam. Multiple-choice questions intended to assess knowledge, analytical abilities, and comprehension are commonly included in exam patterns. The following is the exam pattern-

  1. Mode of the exam: The Examinations will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. However, if a need arises due to logistic and administrative reasons, the examinations may be conducted in hybrid (tablets) / pen and paper mode also.
  2. Medium: The exam will be held in English and Hindi medium except for those that have been identified to be using only / either English or Hindi. The question paper for BA LLB (Hons) will be in English only.
  3. Marking scheme: In all the papers, +4 will be given for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Paper pattern for BA (Hons) Arts and BA (Social Sciences):

  1. There shall be one Paper of 120 minutes carrying 480 marks containing 120.
  2. The standard will be of +2 Examinations or equivalent.

Paper pattern for B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag and ) B.Sc. (Hons.) Ag.- RGSC

  1. There shall be one paper of 120 minutes (Two hours) duration carrying 400 marks.
  2. There will be 200 multiple-choice questions based on +2 examinations or equivalent.
  3. The paper shall comprise the following five sections:

Paper pattern for LLB

  1. There shall be one Paper of 120 minutes (Two hours) duration carrying 600 marks
  2. There will be 150 multiple-choice questions.
  3. These questions shall be based on General Awareness and Current Affairs, Common Legal Knowledge, Aptitude and Mental Ability.
  4. The Paper will also include two sets of multiple choice questions on Language comprehension, one each in Hindi and English, where the candidate is required to answer either the Hindi language set or the English language set but not both.

Paper pattern for BA LLB (Hons)

  1. There shall be one Paper of 120 minutes (Two hours) duration carrying 600 marks.
  2. There will be 150 multiple-choice questions.
  3. These questions shall be based on General Awareness and Current Affairs, Common Legal Knowledge, Aptitude and Mental Ability.
  4. The Paper will also include multiple choice questions on English comprehension.

Paper pattern for BPEd

  1. There shall be one paper comprising 100 multiple-choice questions
  2. The duration will be 90 minutes (one and half hours)
  3. Total marks will be 400 marks.
  4. 40 Questions shall be based on General Studies, Aptitude Test, Current Affairs and General Knowledge about Sports.
  5. Physical Fitness Test (modified AAHPER fitness test) of 400 marks will be conducted by External Examiners appointed by Controller of Examinations, at the Department of Physical Education, BHU at Varanasi only for shortlisted candidates.

Paper pattern for BSc (Hons) Mathematics, B.Tech. in Food Technology, B.Tech. in Dairy Technology, andBVoc in Computer Applications

  1. There shall be one Paper of 150 minutes (Two and half hours) duration
  2. Total marks will be 600 marks containing
  3. Total questions will be 150 multiple choice questions based on +2 examinations or equivalent.
  4. The Paper shall comprise three sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, each containing 50 questions.

Paper pattern for BSc (Hons) Biology

  1. There shall be one Paper of 150 minutes (Two and half hours) duration
  2. There will be 150 MCQs of 600 marks.
  3. Questions will be based on +2 examination or equivalent.
  4. The Paper shall comprise three sections: Physics, Chemistry and Biology, each containing 50 questions.

Paper pattern for BEd and BEd – Special Education

  1. There shall be one paper of 150 minutes (Two and half hours) duration
  2. There will be 100 MCQs carrying 400 marks
  3. MCQs will be divided into the following two parts – (a) 30 MCQs on teaching aptitude, reasoning, current educational scenario; (b) There will be four subject groups. The candidate will be required to appear in the group for which he/she has given an option in the application form on the basis of his/her eligibility. Each group will have 70 MCQs.
