IISER 2025 Registration Begins, Check Eligibility, Exam, Syllabus and Pattern

IISER 2025: The IISER 2025 registration link has been activated by IISER Tirupati today, March 10, 2025. Candidates can apply till April 15, 2025.  The entire application procedure will be conducted online. Before proceeding with the application form, candidates are advised to check the IISER 2025 Eligibility Criteria
The IISER 2025 Exam or IISER Aptitude Test 2025 (IAT 2025) will take place on May 25, 2025. A few days before the exam the authority will issue the admit card for the candidates.

The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research or IISER offer admissions to their five-year BS-MS dual degree and four-year BS programs through the IISER Aptitude Test or IAT 2025. The exam is conducted annually. This exam serves as the basis for admission to IISER campuses located in Bhopal, Berhampur, Mohali, Kolkata, Pune, Tirupati and Thiruvananthapuram. Students who have completed their Class 12 education with a Science stream are eligible to apply for the IAT. Admission to the programs at various IISER campuses in 2025 is granted based on the candidates' IAT scores and their chosen preferences.

The use of KVPY and JEE Advanced scorecards for admission has been discontinued. The participating IISER institutions offer a wide range of programs, including Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth & Climate Sciences/Earth & Environmental Sciences, Economic Sciences, and Engineering Sciences (such as Chemical Engineering, Data Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science). Additionally, they offer Geological Sciences, Integrated & Interdisciplinary Sciences (covering Biological, Chemical, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences), Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences.

IISER 2025 Exam Date 

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research did not release any probable date for the IISER 2025 Exam. However, based on the previous year’s date a comprehensive exam schedule has been made. Students can refer to the table below for the IISER Exam Date 2025:

IISER 2025 Eligibility

To appear in the IISER 2025 Exam candidates must meet certain eligibility criteria. For example, candidates have to be Indian citizens. Besides that non-Indian national PIO or OCI status holders are also eligible to apply. Here are the details:

Nationality

• Must be an Indian citizen, PIO, or OCI.
• Non-Indian nationals, PIOs, or OCIs can apply only through the JEE Advanced.

Educational Qualification

• Must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) in 2023, 2024 or 2025.
• Class 12 (or equivalent) must be from a state or central recognised board. 

Subject Criteria

Should have studied at least three of the following subjects in Class 12 (or equivalent):

• Biology
• Chemistry
• Mathematics
• Physics

Minimum Marks Criteria

• General Categories: Must have secured a minimum of 60% in aggregate or an equivalent grade.
• SC, ST or PwD Candidates: Must have secured a minimum of 55% in aggregate or an equivalent grade.

Performance Criteria in Class 12

• Candidates who have not received their Class XII (or equivalent) exam results can still apply for IAT 2025. However, their admission will depend on meeting the minimum eligibility requirements mentioned earlier.
• For candidates who first appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) exam in 2024 and reappeared in any subject in 2025, the better of the two results will be considered.
• If a board calculates aggregate marks using both Class XI and XII, only the marks from the Class XII (or equivalent) exam will be considered. For boards that calculate aggregate marks over all three years of a 3-year diploma or similar course, only the final year's marks will be taken into account. Similarly, for boards with a semester system, only the marks from the last two semesters will be considered.
• If a board gives grades without showing an equivalent percentage of marks, candidates must get a certificate from the board stating the equivalent percentage and submit it before the deadline.

IISER 2025 Application Process is expected to start within the first week of April 2025. Candidates must follow the instructions below for the IISER 2025 Application Process:

IISER 2025 Admit Card

The IISER 2025 admit card is expected to be released in the first week of June 2025. Candidates can download their admit card from the official IISER Admissions website by logging in with their registered credentials (username and password). The admit card will contain important details such as the candidate’s name, exam centre information, shift timings, and other relevant details.

Steps to Download IISER 2025 Admit Card

To download the IISER 2025 Admit Card candidates must check the steps below:

1. Visit the official website: Start by visiting the official IISER Admissions website.
2. Locate the Admit Card Tab: On the homepage, look for the ‘IISER Admit Card’ tab.
3. Click the Link: Click on the admit card link, which will take the candidate to a new page.
4. Log In with Credentials: There candidate must enter their required login details (Login ID and Password).
5. Check Admit Card Details: Once logged in, candidates’ admit cards will be displayed. In this stage, candidates must verify all the details on the admit card carefully.
6. Download and Print: Next candidates must download the admit card and take at least two printouts for safekeeping,

Note: If there are any discrepancies or errors on the admit card, such as incorrect personal details or exam centre information, candidates should contact the exam authorities immediately. 

IISER 2025 Answer Key

The IAT 2025 answer key will be released on the same day as the exam. Initially, the exam authorities will publish the provisional answer key. Candidates can access and download this answer key from the official IISER Admissions website.

If candidates are not satisfied with the answers in the provisional key, they will have the chance to raise objections. This process will be facilitated on the official website. After reviewing the objections, subject experts will make the necessary corrections and release the final answer key.

How to Raise Objections Against IISER 2025 Answer Key

If any candidate finds discrepancies in a question or its answer, they can object to the prescribed format. If the objections are valid and accepted, the authorities will modify the answer key accordingly. Successful objections would result in candidates receiving marks for the corrected answers.

IISER 2025 Result

The IAT 2025 results are expected to be released in the last week of June 2025. Candidates can check their results by following these simple steps:

IISER 2025 Cutoff

The IISER Entrance Exam 2025 Cut-off marks are not directly released by the exam authorities on the official website or in the candidates' IISER 2025 rank cards. Instead, the closing ranks for each category and participating institute are announced after the IISER 2025 counselling registration process is completed.

1. Exam Difficulty: A tougher exam could result in lower cut-off marks, and an easier exam may raise the cut-off.

IISER 2025 Counselling Process

The IISER 2025 BS-MS programme counselling is a structured process. Below is a step-by-step guide to help candidates understand the entire procedure:

Step 1: Check the First-Round Seat Allotment List: After the IISER 2025 results are declared, the first-round seat allotment list will be published. This list will include the roll numbers of candidates who have been allocated seats in the BS-MS programme across various channels (SCB, KVPY, JEE). Candidates can visit the official IISER website to check the list.

Step 2: Download the IISER Offer Letter: Shortlisted candidates will need to log in to the IISER application portal. Once logged in, candidates can download their offer letters confirming their seat allocation.

Step 3: Pay the Seat Acceptance Fee: To confirm their acceptance, candidates must pay the seat acceptance fee before the deadline.

Step 4: Check the Second-Round Seat Allotment List: If any seats remain unfilled after the first round, a second-round allotment list will be published. This list will include candidates who are either allocated seats in the IISERs or have been floated to the second round under the SCB channel. Candidates must follow the same process: download the offer letter and pay the SAF to confirm their admission.
