NVS 2025 syllabus has been released along with the information brochure. The syllabus remained the same as the previous year. NVS syllabus includes topics from the Mental Ability, Arithmetic Test, and Language Test with a weightage of 50, 25, and 25 marks respectively. The syllabus is of the 5th standard level, and the overall difficulty remains on the easier side. NVS 2025 syllabus for all three sections has been detailed in this article.
NVS 2025 Mental Ability Test Syllabus
Mental Ability Test (MAT) is a non-verbal one, where candidates are asked questions in the form of different figures and diagrams. The ten types of questions that need to be covered while preparing for this section are as follows:
- Odd Man Out
- Figure Matching
- Pattern Completion
- Figure Series Completion
- Analogy
- Geometrical Figure Completion (Circle, Triangle, Square)
- Mirror Imaging
- Punched Hold Pattern- Folding/ Unfolding
- Space Visualization
- Embedded Figure
NVS 2025 Arithmetic Test Syllabus
The candidate’s basic Mathematics skills till class 5 are examined here. The important topics to be covered in the Arithmetic Test syllabus are as follows:
- Number and Mumeric System
- Four Fundamental Operations on Whole Number
- Factors and Multiples Including their Properties
- Decimals and Fundamental Operations on them
- Conversion of Fractions to Decimals and vice-versa
- Measurement of Length, Mass, Capacity, Time, Money, etc.
- Simplification of Numerical Expressions
- Fractional Numbers- Addition and Subtraction of like Fraction and Multiplication (unlike fraction and division of fractional numbers not included)
- Profit and Loss without Calculation of Percentage (calculation of percentage of profit and loss is exempted from the topic)
- Perimeter and Area– Perimeter of Polygon, Area of Square Rectangle and Triangle (as a part of Rectangle)
- Types of Angle and its Simple Applications
- Data Analysis using Bar Diagram, Graph, and Line Chart
NVS 2025 Language Test
The candidate’s reading abilities, vocabulary, and grammar are analyzed in the Language test. It will include a total of 4 passages with 5 MCQ-based questions each.
