The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the CDS (Combined Defence Services) twice a year (every year) to select deserving and talented students. The qualified talented students are selected for their enrollment in the Indian Military Academy, Air Force Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Officers Training. The CDS II 2024 registration process has already started from 15th May 2024 till 4th June 2024 in online mode.
The CDS II Notification includes the details of vacancy and number of seats available in each force. Candidates are required to go through the CDS II Official Notification so as to check details regarding the CDS eligibility criteria, number of vacancies, seat availability, list of required documents, exam details and other information. According to the notification, the CDS II 2024 examination is scheduled to be held on 1st September 2024.
Candidates who are seeking admission to the IMA, INA, AF, and OTAs can apply for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) II 2024 exam at upsc.gov.in. After completion of the exam, qualifying candidates will be able to join their preferred defence force academy as commissioned officers. Candidates need to enter their email ID / Mobile Number / OTR ID and password as login credentials to register themselves for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) II 2024 examination. Interested candidates can apply for the Combined Defence Services (CDS) II 2024 from 15th May 2024 to 4th June 2024 till 6 PM along with the payment of application fees.
Steps to Apply for CDS II 2024 Examination
Candidates are recommended to follow the outlined steps below to register themselves for CDS II 2024 examination and submit the form online successfully. The steps are as follows -
Go to the Examination Notification tab, located on the right corner of the page.
Look for CDS II 2024 exam notification and click on the application link.
Now, candidates need to register themselves on the OTR platform. (Single Registration in OTR platform remains for life time, however, students can modify it within 7 days of first registration).
Then click on the CDS II 2024 application link and fill out the form.
Candidates need to fill out the form carefully by entering personal details and upload the required documents.
Cross-check the application form and pay the application fees online or in cash before the deadline.
Next, click on the ‘Submit’ option.
Candidates should save and download the confirmation page for future reference.

The final CDS II 2024 examination is going to be held in 1st September 2024 for a total vacancies of 459 in pen-paper mode.
CDS II 2024 Application Fees
Along with the submission of the application form, candidates are required to pay the application fees in online or offline mode (cash). The application fee for UR/OBC is INR 200 whereas there is no fee for female/SC/ST category students. The aspirants can pay the application fee both online and offline (cash) for the CDS II exam. Candidates who are paying in cash are required to download the pay in-slip from the portal and make the payment at the nearest SBI branch.
