JEE Main 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Prior to commencing the application process, it is imperative for students to thoroughly review the comprehensive JEE Eligibility Criteria.
Basic Eligibility
- Nationality: Indian citizens and international applicants (if they meet AIU-prescribed marks) can apply.
- Age Limit: There's no age limit, but applicants must meet the age criteria of their desired institution.
- Qualifying Exam: Applicants must have passed the 12th grade or an equivalent level from a recognized board or university.
- Attempt Limit: There's no limit on the number of attempts.
- Year of Appearance: Those who passed 12th grade in 2022, 2023, or are appearing in 2024 are eligible. Those who passed in 2021 or earlier, or will appear in 2025 or later, are not eligible.
- Qualifications: Candidates must have passed 12th grade with 5 subjects, including language, Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/technical vocational, or any other subjects.
State Code of Eligibility
- While registering, choose the state code of eligibility based on where you passed your 12th grade.
- For Indian nationals who passed 12th abroad, choose based on the permanent address in your passport.
Eligibility as per Institutions
- For B.E/B.Tech: Pass 12th with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/technical vocational subjects.
- For B.Arch: Pass 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
- For B.Plan: Pass 12th with Mathematics.
- For admission through CSAB counseling, you need a minimum of 75% marks in 12th (65% for ST/SC) or be in the top 20 percentile in 12th as per your board's standards.
JEE Main 2024 Syllabus
JEE Main Syllabus 2024 can be found on the website. It mainly covers topics from the 11th and 12th-grade levels. To accommodate different syllabus changes by various boards in the country, the National Testing Agency offers a choice in one section of each subject in Paper 1 and Paper 2A/B (part 1).
The total number of questions you answer remains the same for relevant subjects, like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with 25 questions each.
For Paper 1 (B.E/ B.Tech)
- Physics: Questions will be about things like spinning objects, laws of motion, measuring in physics, waves, light, electricity, and more.
