Bharathiar University School of Distance Education also known as BU SDE was established in 1991 by Bharathiar University in Coimbatore. The institute is a public institute which offers UG and PG courses. The UG courses offered by the institute are BA, B.Com, BBA and the PG courses are M.Sc, MA, M.Com, MBA, and MCA. The basic eligibility for the UG courses is at least 50% marks in 10+2 and for PG courses at least 50% marks in graduation. The admission to the courses is merit based i.e. it depends on the marks secured in class 12 for UG and marks scored in graduation for PG.
