Davangere University has 4 departments- Arts, science & technology, commerce management and education. The university has 116 colleges affiliated to it with one constituent college and two autonomous colleges offering graduate and postgraduate courses. It offers 23 Post graduation courses of studies and Research courses on its main campus. For the admissions to all Post graduation courses, both the marks obtained in the entrance test and aggregate marks obtained in the relevant subject(s) at qualifying degree examination will be considered. The candidates will be shortlisted for admissions on the basis of the score in the entrance exam. The university admits 50 students (merit and open merit) under each PG course. Reservation of seats for special categories is also available as per government orders.

The university offers various PG courses with multiple specializations in MA and M.Sc. Admissions to M.A and M.Sc are based on the rank of the candidates in the All India entrance exam conducted by the university itself and aggregate marks obtained in relevant subjects of graduation.

Davangere University offers Research courses under 6 disciplines. Candidates who have Master’s degree with 50% aggregate marks can apply for admissions. Admissions to the course are based on entrance tests conducted by the university.
The entrance test will be offline. Questions will be based on the PG subjects for each course, as mentioned in the eligibility criteria. The duration for M.Phil.the course is for minimum 1 year and Ph.D. for minimum 2 years.

Duly filled-in applications have to be submitted to the respective departments in person or through post/ courier. The candidates can pay the fees through Demand Draft or Bank Challan.
The DD has to be issued in favor of “Finance Officer, Shivagangotri payable at Davangere”.
