The Footwear Design and Development Institute, FDDI, is one of India's premier institutions for design and retail education, established in 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. Recognised as an “Institution of National Importance” under the FDDI Act, 2017, FDDI is known for its pivotal role in nurturing skilled professionals across the footwear, leather, fashion, and retail industries. The Noida campus of FDDI is located on a 10-acre site in Sector 24 and is the oldest and flagship campus of the FDDI network.
