IET Lucknow was established in the year of 1984 and is an autonomous constituent college of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University. The institute offers BTech as its flagship program where admissions are granted based on JEE Main score followed by UPTAC Counselling.

Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Lucknow offers a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree program with several different specialization subjects. The institute also accepts lateral entry (direct admission in the second year) in all the BTech specializations. IET Lucknow admission to the BTech program is done through JEE Mains followed by UPTAC counselling.
To be eligible, candidates must have passed the 10+2 level examination with PCM from any recognized board or university with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks, and 5% relaxation for SC/ ST candidates. The institute also accepts 20% of total sanctioned candidates based on JEE Main as per the State Govt. norms. For BTech lateral admission candidates should have at least 60% marks in 3 or 4 years diploma from a recognized university sanctioned by the UP Board of Education with admission based on UPSEE.

The MTech program at IET Lucknow offers specializations in various fields with specific eligibility criteria. IET Lucknow follows the guidelines of AKTU regarding admission to MTech Courses. The allotment of seats in each program is strictly based on merit. The first preference is given to GATE-qualified candidates having valid scores in their respective disciplines. The second preference is given to candidates with respective program-valid CUET (PG) 2024 scores. And, the third preference is based on Written test merit (conducted in case of seat vacancy after confirmation by valid GATE/ respective program and valid CUET (PG) score candidates.)
For admission at IET, for the MBA course, the candidate is required to appear for UPTAC Counselling. The student is also required to pass 10+2 and graduate with a minimum of 45% aggregate.
