Nitte University is established in Mangalore, Karnataka and was granted the status of University of Deemed to be in 2008. It is a set of Institutions which is run by the Nitte Education Trust. The Trust was founded by the Late Justice KS Hegde, an eminent statesman and judge of the Supreme Court of India as well as the Speaker of Lok Sabha with the aim of reaching out to the rural masses and providing them with education and health care facilities of the highest quality. The Trust has 36 institutions which operate in three campus centers at Nitte, Mangalore and Bangalore.The University secured rank 65 in NIRF 2023, ranked 451-500 in the QS Asia University Rankings 2023 and placed 201-300 in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking 2022 and accredited with an ‘A+’ NAAC grade. The undergraduate engineering programs are recognized by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).It has been rated a Diamond in the QS I-Gauge India Ratings system.Nitte University provides the UG level of education in courses like B.Tech, B.Sc, B.Arch, MBBS, BPT, BDS, B.Pharmacy, BJMC, and the Post Basic B.Sc in Nursing program, and at the PG level such as M.Tech, MCA MD, MS, MSc, M. Nitte University has launched this scholarship scheme for the intelligent and clever students who wish to pursue Degree courses in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Bio-Medical Science and Journalism & Mass Communication. Students can avail the benefit of age as well as fee concessions applicable under this scheme. The fee concession is granted on the basis of level marks in the optional subjects of Nursing, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy and Bio Medical Science, i.e.(Physics, Chemistry & Biology). For B.A (J & M.C), overall percentage in 10+2 is considered.

Admission Process of Nitte University, Mangalore

MBBS and BDS courses are available through Centralised Counselling by KEA on the basis of an applicants NEET UG rank. For admission to B.Arch. candidates have to obtain a qualifying mark in NATA. All the other UG courses are offered based on the merit of the concerned qualifying examination of the applicant. Masters in Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Surgery are admission based on the NEET PG exam ranking through the counselling conducted by KEA. Admission to Master of Dental Surgery program is provided depending on the score in National Eligibility Entrance Test for MDS. Admission to M.Ch. programs is based on a score of a candidate in the NEET SS conducted by the National Board of Education. Students are given access to other PG courses based on their performance in the qualifying examination of that particular course. For B.Tech admission is granted purely on the assessed score in NUCAT.
The Nitte University Common Admission Test (NUCAT) is being conducted for the purpose of determining the eligibility / merit, for admission in the First Year of the full-time BTech, MTech & MCA courses at Nitte (Deemed to be University).Admission to Diploma course is provided to the applicants on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam. Admission to Ph.D. is done on the basis of the score in the written test and an interview conducted by the university.

- Accommodation facilities: The hostels are situated within college premises and close to the college. The students are allocated well-equipped rooms which have a bed, study table and chair and a wardrobe.Â
- Mess: A mess is available within the hostel providing vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals to its residents. No outside food is permitted into the hostel’s mess.Â
- Medical: College students receive medical cover that enables them to receive curative medical attention from selected hospitals at no cost. These include a 1200 bed multispecialty KS Hegde Hospital and dental services offered at the AB Shetty Dental Hospital.Â
- Transport Facility: Buses and vans are kept within the premises for use on campus. These vehicles are used to transport students and staffs free of charge. Gym:Â
- There is an A/C fitted Gym available on the campus with the size of 5500 sq ft. it is operational between 6.00 am to 10.00 pm. The gym has 3 trained professional instructors and also provides equipments like treadmill, exercise bike, elliptical trainer, rowing machine etc.Â
- Library: Library facility is available containing sufficient books and journals for all the students to support their academic and general knowledge needs.Â
- Sports: The university has a well-established sports base with 400-metre athletic turf track, a football pitch, basketball, volleyball, and badminton courts, a cricket pitch, and a tennis court. In addition, the campus equips students with indoor games such as chess, table tennis, and caroms.Â
- IT Infrastructure: The University has got an excellent IT Infrastructure facility for the students with a wide range of good Wi-Fi Connection which is available all over the campus.Â
- Auditorium: There is a big sized auditorium within the university which is ideal for carrying out seminar and events.
