Pandit Deendayal Energy University: Factors Affecting Cut-Offs

There are many factors that are affecting the cut-off and students might find it difficult to get into their desired programs because of them. Due to the difficulty in the examinations like JEE which is considered as the requirement for getting into the B.Tech program, it affects cut-off scores since only a few students will be able to clear the examination with the required score.

Due to the reservation quota, there are only a limited number of seats available for students from different categories. These rules are made based on government norms and to make the university inclusive of students from all over the nation and world. This affects students who are looking for programs with especially higher demand, not all of the applicants will be able to get it.

In the case of a program with higher demand like Petroleum Engineering, there will naturally be a higher number of applications. So to filter out the applicants, the management might set the target or cut it off higher making it difficult for students who might have a point five mark difference to not get admission.

Pandit Deendayal Energy University Counseling Process

Pandit Deendayal Energy University has a well-organized counselling procedure for several programs. Counselling is mainly done for getting admission to B.Tech and MBA programs. Usually, the ranks from tests like JEE Mains and GUJCET for national and state categories are used for determining the B.Tech counselling process. To be eligible for the All India Quota, candidates must register individually and wait for the release of the merit list, which is determined by the JEE results.

In the meantime, state quota applicants can take part in the Gujarat Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) GUJCET counselling. Following registration, students will have to go through a counselling process like uploading mark sheets from their 12th standard, JEE/GUJCET results, and any such relevant documents. Based on their category, availability of seats, relevance, and rank they will be allotted seats during the counseling rounds. If the student is about to apply for the M.Tech program, they will have to attend the GATE COAP counselling for seat allocation, and PDEU takes GATE results into account for M.Tech admissions. A similar counselling method is followed for the MBA program, which has qualifying requirements for the CAT/XAT/MAT examinations. Finally, the seats will be confirmed based on group discussions and personal interviews.
