Periyar University is a state university established by the Tamil Nadu government in the year 1997. The university is located in Salem, Tamil Nadu. The university is named after the reformed social worker named E.V. ramasyami who is also known as 'Periyar'. The university covers over four districts in Tamil Nadu: Mainly Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, and Krishnagiri. The university is affiliated with more than 109 colleges. By the department committee's suggestion, first-year students having the highest score in courses in the UG will be free from paying fees throughout the period they take their programs.

Dr. Ambedkar and Rajali Meritorious Scholarship
|
The Periyar University scholarship is awarded to one first-year PG student who has the highest UG score in his/her class and would be renewed for the second year as long as the candidate passes all subjects in first-year PG at once.

University Research Fellowship

Among all the registered scholars, regardless of their category, one research scholar will be awarded a University Research Fellowship (URF) based on his/her seniority.

|
