Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Jais, is a Government of India autonomous organization and an "Institution of National Importance" under the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology Act, 2007. It is jointly promoted by major oil and gas corporations such as ONGC, IOCL, OIL, GAIL, BPCL, and HPCL in partnership with the Oil Industry Development Board (OIDB). 

RGIPT emphasizes industry-oriented education. It was placed 79th among the best engineering colleges in the energy sector in NIRF Indian Ranking 2023. It has strong links with national and international organizations to facilitate student exchange programs, workshops, and training. RGIPT offers undergraduate, postgraduate, PG diploma, and PhD courses in different specializations with an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) in Computer Science and Engineering with Artificial Intelligence. Admission to these courses depends on entrance exam scores like JEE Advanced for undergraduate studies, GATE for postgraduate studies, and CAT for management studies.

RGIPT Courses And Fees 2025

RGIPT has various engineering, management, and research courses. The admission criteria includes entrance exams like JEE Main, CAT, XAT, and GATE. For B.Tech and integrated B.Tech+M.Tech, candidates should pass 12th grade with 60% minimum. MBA and M.Tech require graduation with 60%. Ph.D. programs require a postgraduate degree with 60%. The fee structure is different for every course.

For RGIPT admission, candidate need to apply online on the official website (rgipt.ac.in), with particular entrance exams such as JEE Advanced, Main for B.Tech, GATE for M.Tech, and CAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT for MBA, & PAT for diploma courses.

RGIPT Placement 

RGIPT assists the students in receiving summer internship as well as final placements. The placement cell of the institute endeavours to have continuous interaction with the industry. For this purpose, RGIPT conducts seminars, summer internships, research projects, on-campus and off-campus activities. Highest salary offered to B.Tech students during campus drive was INR 22 LPA by ONGC. Some of the major recruiters of the Institute are Torrent Gas, Wipro Ltd, Shell, Infosys, IOCL, ONGC, BPCL, HPCL and many more.

1. Research Lab- RGIPT facilitates students with a research lab to make them understand practical working. The lab is well equipped with the required facilities.
2. Central Library-The institute has more than 5000 books, 35 printed journals, and 20 magazines to provide them with ample knowledge. The library has internet connectivity for students to get online resources.
3. Health Center: The health center unit is available at the institute to handle minor illness and also organises regular health check ups for the students and the employees.
