Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya (RDVV), also known as the University of Jabalpur, is a public state university located in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Established on June 12, 1956, under the Jabalpur University Act, the university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a ‘B’ grade. Spread across 99 acres, RDVV houses 24 well-established teaching and research departments across various faculties such as Arts, Science, Law, Management, and Social Sciences.

 The university offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes including BA, BSc (Hons), B.Com, BBA, MA, M.Sc, LLM, MBA, and Ph.D in fields like Hospitality, Mass Communication, Education, and more. Admissions are granted based on merit and entrance exams like CMAT for MBA, while over 100 affiliated colleges contribute to its academic ecosystem. Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya (RDVV) offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across disciplines such as Science, Arts, Management, Law, and Technology. Popular courses include B.Ed, B.Sc (Hons), BBA, BJMC, BCA, MBA, M.Sc, M.A, MCA, LL.M., and Ph.D. with various specializations. Eligibility ranges from 10+2 to postgraduate qualifications, depending on the course. While the course durations vary from 1 to 5 years. Admissions are based on merit and entrance exams like CMAT, catering to diverse academic and professional aspirations.

Applicants wanting to get admitted to the university have to meet the minimum eligibility criteria as specified for individual courses. Undergraduate and postgraduate courses are admitted on the basis of entrance test and merit obtained in the same. The university, however, conducts Doctoral Entrance Test (DET) for Ph.D. admission for each subject individually. The candidates who pass the interview test need to appear for an interview to be selected for the course.

• The application fee for all the UG and PG courses is:
• Merit mode admission courses - Rs. 330
• Entrance test mode admission courses - Rs. 500
• The application fee for M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses is Rs. 1,000

In 2018-19, for 3 year UG Degree, total students admitted at RDVV - Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya were 240 and 220 graduated in 2020-21. 12 students were placed out of 220 with a median salary of INR 1,80,000. 255 students were admitted in the year 2019-20 for 3 year UG degree at RDVV - Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya and 230 graduated in 2021-22. 14 students out of 230 were placed with a median salary of INR 220000. 

 For 4 year UG Degree, in 2018-19, a total of 59 students got admitted at RDVV - Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya and 57 graduated in 2021-22. 8 students out of 57 were placed with a median salary of INR 144000 and 5 students went for higher studies. 

At RDVV - Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya, a total number of 35 students were enrolled in 3 year PG Degree in the year 2018-19 and 9 have graduated in the year 2020-21. 

2 students were placed out of 9 with a median salary of INR 410000. 35 students were admitted in the year 2019-20 for 3 year PG degree at RDVV - Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya and 19 graduated in 2021-22. 6 students were placed out of 19 with a median salary of INR 420000.

RDVV Scholarships

Following are the details of the scholarships provided by the university.

• The university provides merit scholarships to poor students, who are unable to afford the education fees. This scholarship is provided to just 30 students annually.
• They need to appear for an entrance exam, and if they score the cut-off marks necessary for the scholarship, they are issued a scholarship certificate declaring the wavering off of their fees.
• RDVV also permits its students to avail themselves of the National Scholarship scheme offered by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.
• There is also a scholarship program for students from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe.

RDVV Facilities

Some of the facilities offered by the university to students as well as teachers are given below:

• Hostel: 2 hostels named, Devendra Boys' Hostel with 100 rooms, and Kasturba Women's Hostel with 80 rooms.
• Library: The library of the university, or the Pandit Dwarka Prasad Mishra reading hall, contains over 2,00,000 books, 10,000 research journals, and 5,000 thesis journals. All these resources are made available to the students, for their improvement and proper education.
• Internet/Wi-Fi: Undisturbed broadband and Wi-Fi connections are available in the classrooms and computer labs for the benefit of the students.
• Sports facilities: The university sports field can be used by the researchers to play cricket, football, tennis and even organize annual games meets for all the divisions.
