SPIT Admission 2025: Dates, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT) offers courses at UG, PG and PhD level. At UG level, the institute offers B.Tech program whereas M.Tech and MCA degree courses are offered at postgraduate level. In addition to it, the institute offers Ph.D program in four disciplines.

Candidates applying for B.Tech course should have passed HSC in science stream. For admission to M.Tech and MCA courses, candidates should have completed graduation in the relevant discipline. Ph.D. applicants should have a Master’s degree in the relevant discipline. Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech, M.Tech and MCA courses need to apply through DTE Maharashtra website.

Ph.D applicants are required to fill the online application form available at the institute’s website. Application forms for the institute level seats available in B.Tech, M.Tech courses are filled online through the college website.

For admissions to BE degree courses, candidates are required to have a valid MHT CET or JEE score. M.Tech and Ph.D candidates must have a valid GATE score in order to be eligible for admission. Candidates seeking admission to MCA course should have a valid MAH MCA-CET score card.

SPIT Mumbai admissions for 2025 are underway. MHT CET will be held from April 19–27, JEE Main Session 2 results are expected on April 17, and GATE 2025 results are out. MAH MCA CET results are expected in May 2025.

For admission to B.Tech program offered by Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT), candidate should have completed 10+2/HSC with science subjects i.e. Physics, Mathematics and any of the following subjects - Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology with a minimum of 50% marks.

Candidates should have a valid score in MHT-CET conducted by DTE or JEE Main, conducted by CBSE. Such candidates will be allotted seats through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) conducted by DTE Maharashtra.

SPIT offers M.Tech course in two disciplines along with MCA degree courses at PG level. Candidates seeking admission to M.Tech course must possess a BE/ B.Tech degree in relevant discipline with at least 50% marks. Selection of candidates to the M.Tech courses is done on the basis of GATE score and it is mandatory for candidates to have a positive score in GATE.

Candidates applying for MCA course should have passed minimum three-year duration Bachelor’s Degree course with at least 50% marks. Candidates should also have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects at (10+2) level or graduate level examination. Candidate should possess valid MAH-MCA-CET scores.

In addition to UG and PG courses, SPIT also offers Ph.D degree in 4 disciplines and the minimum eligibility criteria is that the candidate should have at least 55% aggregate marks in the Master’s degree. Candidates who have passed M.Phil degree course with at least 55% marks are also eligible.

• Candidates are required to appear for PET (Ph.D. entrance test) conducted by the University of Mumbai in order to be eligible for selection.
• If a candidate is qualified in GATE examination, he/she is exempted from appearing in the test.
• Eligible candidates shall be given provisional admission only after undergoing centralized interview by a panel at the College/Institute/University/Department.

For MHT CET registration

Applicants need to complete the online application form via the DTE Maharashtra website. Fees for applications can be paid online alone through Internet Payment, Credit Card/ Debit Card (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile

Application fees is INR 800 for General students who are from Maharashtra and other states. Application fee is INR 600 for students of other categories. After successful payment, the candidate will take the print out of MHT-CET Registration Confirmation.

For BE, ME and MCA program

For institute level seat admission (20% of the total seats) in BE and ME course, candidates must submit the application form along with the processing fee of INR 1500. Candidates for admission to BE course must register for counseling procedure through DTE Maharashtra website on payment of application fee of INR 800 for general candidates of Maharashtra and other states and INR 600 for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

For admission to ME and MCA through entrance exams, candidates can register through the DTE website. Candidates who have already registered for MAH-MCA-CET are not required to pay any fees.

Candidates can fill the online application form, scan and upload the required documents without any charges at the nearest facilitation center.

Documents required while filling of application form are as follows:

1. SSC (standard X) mark sheet.
2. HSC/Diploma mark sheet.
3. Qualifying Examination mark sheet.
4. Mark sheet/Score Card of the entrance test.
5. School Leaving Certificate.
6. Certificate of the Indian Nationality of the candidate.
7. Domicile/Birth/Leaving certificate (for candidates seeking Home state Quota).
8. Caste validity certificate (if Applicable)
