Saurashtra University was established on 23rd May, 1967. The university has two headquarters which are located in Rajkot and Bhavnagar, respectively. 1. | Girls Hostel | There are a total of 5 Girls Hostel on the SU Campus. The hostels are, namely, Ganga Hostel, Saraswati Hostel, Narmada Hostel, Yamuna Hostel, and Kaveri Hostel. The hostels are equipped with all essential facilities and amenities such as Wi-Fi, CCTV Camera, Sanitary Pad Machine, Cupboard, Chair, Water heater, ladies bicycle and many more. Many functions and events are also conducted on the hostel campus. |
2. | Boys Hostel | SU has 4 Boys Hostel on Campus, namely, Girnar Hostel, Shetrunjay Hostel, Osam Parvat Hostel, and Earn while Learn Hostel. The boys hostels are also equipped with all necessary amenities such as Solar Water Heater, Wi-Fi, Cup-board, chair, and many more. |
3. | Central Library | The Saurashtra University Library started functioning along with the University in 1967. Under the UGC-Infonet, the library has free access to around 4600 e-journals adding to the latest knowledge of our students, faculties and researchers. An “e-corner†with four systems has been installed for the users. |
4. | Computer Center | UGC New Delhi has sanctioned the Computer Center of Saurashtra University as a Non-Vocational Department in 1988. Center is involved in multiple techno academic activities related to IT, Computer Infrastructure and Communication area. |
5. | Day Care | Saurashtra University, Rajkot has established a Children's Day Care Centre on its campus, behind the Central Library Building. Children from three months to six years are admitted to the centre. Many fun and educational toys and games have been purchased. They also have access to a playground. There are see-saws, Zolas, sliding strips, and a variety of other playing and entertainment objects purchased. |
6. | Health Center | The Health Centre provides maximum consultation in specialist sectors by inviting honorary doctors, such as MD Skin, MD Medicine, MS Ortho, MS ENT, MS Optho., Dentist, Physiotherapist, and so on. The Health Centre also offers a variety of examinations such as blood tests, urine tests, digital X-rays, and basic drugs for common ailments such as fever, cough, cold, and vomiting, as well as treatment for indoor patients. |
7. | Women Fitness | The Fitness and Freshness Center for Women, also known as Ladies Gym, was established on 23rd May 2008. This facility strengthens women students and women employees of SU by organizing Yoga, Aerobic classes, and development programs, and more. |
8. | UGC : Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre | This Center of SU was created in order to improve the quality of teaching and proposed to provide opportunities for teachers career development. |
9. | SU - JIO UPSC Coaching Centre | This Center gathers all Jains under one roof i.e., JAIN INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATION (JIO) and create young civil servants to serve the nation with a change in society and provide excellence governance with ethical values. |
10. | VIDUSHI (Centre for Women’s Studies & Research) | The VIDUSHI centre of SU is especially built to empower women which will envisage the problems of the whole women society. ‘VIDUSHI’ prioritises concepts like Women Education, Health, Social Rights, Financial Freedom, House Running, Legal Awareness and many more. |
11. | Sardar Patel Sports Complex | The University has a sports complex where various sports events, competitions and activities take place. |
