Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology is known for its tremendous placement records throughout the years. The placement cell at the college provides various placement and innovative training sessions for the students, every week. The placement cell at the university, provides various training and development programs for students who have interest in sitting in campus placements and dreamt of cracking an offer in their dream company.
The placement cell at SMIT, aims to provide every student with an offer in hand for their secured future and it provides practice sessions for every month to ensure the progress of the students activity . The placement cell at the university plans to conduct the various orientation programs for students to introduce the work culture and types of industries in various fields.
Every year, it provides students with good packages in hand by bringing a lot of companies to the campus. The top companies like Microsoft, Providence, Luminus, Accenture, Wipro, Amul, JSW, ERICSSON, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, HCL, Nomura and many others offered various roles to the students. The University has achieved the highest package of 36.5 LPA in the last academic year.

For Academic Year 2019-20 , The Institute has achieved a placement of Around 28 students out of all students for PG.For Academic Year 2018-19 , The Institute has achieved a placement of Around 25 students out of all students for PG.For Academic Year 2017-18 , the Institute has achieved a placement of Around 33 students out of all students for PG.
For Academic Year 2019-20, UG and PG, the placement rate has increased rapidly compared to 2018-19, as it recorded a placement of 436 students out of all students and in 2017-18, it recorded a placement of around 387 students out of all students. It shows that there was a huge growth in placement numbers.
Placement Process:
The students of the university are required to register themselves for the placement session at the official placement portal of the University that is held by the University's placement cell .
Eligibility:
- Students who have no backlogs will be eligible to sit in the placement sessions
- Students who have above 7 grade points will be preferred for the most of the companies
- Students with no registered police cases
- Students with no disciplinary actions
Interview rounds:
- The organization will hold a placement drive for the duration of some days, the students should participate in the placement drive and simultaneously can attend the interview rounds.
- The Interviews round mainly consist of three stages: Interaction Round/group discussion , Technical Round and HR Round.
