Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) was founded by the TN government in 2003–2004 to offer open and remote learning courses. The UGC, National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), and Distance Education Council (DEC) all recognize the university. More than 200 undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, and vocational diploma programs in a range of specializations are available at Tamil Nadu Open University in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Through 11 academic schools, 5 support divisions, and a strong network of 515 learner support and service centers throughout the state, these programs of study are offered across a variety of topics and skills at various levels, from certificate to postgraduate.

TNOU Chennai Admission
TNOU admission process to its undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate courses, solely online. The admissions are carried out in two admission cycles in January and July each year. The admissions are based on the merit scores of an applicant. However, admissions to the B.Ed program are based on the TNOU Entrance Exam. For the B. Ed program, TNOU releases the list of shortlisted candidates and they must proceed with the document verification and fee payment. Jail inmates, Destitute Widows, and Physically Challenged aspirants are given 100% fee relaxation. Moreover, students joining the Tamil medium program are given a 10% concession in the tuition fee only. In case of queries, TNOU has established 12 regional centers across the state of Tamil Nadu.
