Candidates should have checked their eligibility criteria before applying for the DU BEd. The eligibility criteria includes the educational qualifications and nationality. Below are the eligibility criteria mentioned for easy understanding.
Candidates must fulfil both part A and Part B of the eligibility criteria which is mentioned below
Part A
- Candidates with at least 50% marks in aggregate either in Bachelor’s degree and/ or in the Master’s degree in science/ social science/ humanities/ commerce or any other qualification equivalent there to be eligible for admission to the program.
- Candidates with at least 55% marks in aggregate in bachelor’s degree in engineering and specialisation in science and mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto are eligible admission to the program.
Part B
Eligibility for choosing the pedagogy course and respective CUET paper
- Candidates should have obtained at least 200 marks or at least 12 credits in core course and elective course and obtained at least 50% marks in this subject.
Relaxation/ Concession and reservations
relaxation/ concessions and reservations would be as per the university guidelines for post graduate admission as given below
- Other backward classes (OBC), children/ widows/ wives of armed personnel, including para-military personnel, killed/ disabled in action (CW), persons with disabilities (PwD) category candidates will be allowed a concession of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility requirements of the program.
- Other Backward Classes (OBC): the OBC candidates shall be given a relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum eligibility in the qualifying examination and in the minimum eligibility in the admission entrance test to the extent of 10% of the minimum eligibility marks.
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD) : The PwD candidates with not less than 40% disability shall be given a relaxation in the minimum eligibility in the qualifying examination and in the minimum eligibility in the admission entrance test to the extent of 5%.
Reservation
- Scheduled caste/ scheduled tribe/ other backward classes; reservation of seats shall be in the following manner: scheduled caste= 15% of total intake in the course scheduled tribe= 7.5% of the total intake in the course.
- Supernumerary seats: Persons with disabilities (PwD) 5% of the total seats in the course will be kept for the PwD category.
