These include minimum age, nationality proof, and qualifying marks in the relevant undergraduate degree. While general category students require a minimum of 60% in graduation, relaxed criteria apply for reserved categories. Eligibility is mandatory to proceed with registration and admission counselling. Students can refer to the table below for more detailed information.

Factors

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Graduation in a relevant discipline from a UGC-recognised university with at least 60% marks for General/OBC categories. Reserved category (SC/ST/PwD) candidates must have secured a minimum of 50%.

Candidates must hold valid proof of Indian citizenship at the time of application.

Age Limit

The applicant should be at least 19 years old as of August 31, 2025; no upper age limit applies.

ICAR AIEEA 2025 Eligibility Criteria: Reservation Policy

ICAR adheres to the reservation guidelines set by the Government of India, offering category-based relaxations in age, qualifying marks, and seat allotment. These provisions apply to candidates from SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, and PwBD categories. The exact distribution of reserved seats is defined below, along with domicile-based intake restrictions applicable to all agricultural universities.

  • Scheduled Castes (SC):15% of the total available seats are reserved for SC candidates.
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST):7.5% of seats are allocated to applicants from the ST category.
  • Other Backwards Classes (OBC–NCL):27% of the seats are set aside for candidates falling under the Non-Creamy Layer of the OBC category.
  • Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): A 10% reservation is applicable for candidates from the EWS category.
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD):5% of the total seats in each category are reserved horizontally for candidates with benchmark disabilities as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
  • Domicile Cap: To maintain national representation, no more than 40% of the seats in any subject or agricultural university may be filled by candidates from a single state under one category.

PwBD Candidates in ICAR AIEEA 2025

ICAR AIEEA 2025 reserves 5% of seats horizontally for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) across all categories. Candidates must have a minimum of 40% disability, certified by a competent authority as per the RPwD Act, 2016. Eligible disabilities include visual impairment, hearing loss, locomotor disabilities, and others listed under the Act. Relaxations in marks and age may apply, but all other eligibility norms remain the same. A valid PwBD certificate is mandatory during both application and counselling.

Scribe and Reader Assistance for ICAR AIEEA 2025

PwBD candidates who are visually impaired or have limitations in writing can request a scribe or reader for the exam. This facility must be pre-approved by NTA and requires submitting relevant documents. Candidates may bring their scribe or request one through the authorities. An extra 20 minutes per hour is granted as compensatory time. Both candidate and scribe must sign a declaration to ensure transparency and compliance.
