Seeking candidates, considering admission to IIFT, must meet the eligibility criteria is paramount. Candidates should have fulfilled the eligibility requirements and being in the final year of study are essential eligibility requirements, which is listed below
Nationality | Candidates from Indian Nationals, foreign nationals, as well as NRIs are eligible to apply for IIFT. |

Age Limit | There is no specified age limit for candidates applying to IIFT |
Marks criteria | Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in their qualifying examination (45% marks for candidates belonging to reserved category) |
Appearing candidates | Those in their final year of study are also eligible to apply for IIFT |
For General/ Reserved Category Candidates
- Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline with minimum 50% marks (45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled caste (sc), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and person with disability (PwD) categories).
- Candidates appearing on a qualifying examination can also apply subject to submission of proof of requisite qualification.
- There is no age limit for appearing in the examination.
For foreign Nationals/NRI Candidates
- Recognized bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration with minimum 50% marks.
- Candidates appearing for a qualifying examination can also apply to submission of proof requisite qualification.
- To qualify as an international candidate for IIFT entrance exam, candidate is expected to be resident outside India for a period of not less than 18 months as on 31st December 2024 and be outside India during the IIFT examination window.
- Foreign Nationals need to have a valid passport/ Travel Document from a country other than India. The foreign National/ NRI who are present in India at the time of IIFT entrance test are required to take the entrance examination.
- The candidate should produce a Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT).
- If the candidate has appeared for any MBA entrance examination for the academic year 2023-24 in India such as CAT/XAT/IIFT etc. they are not eligible to apply as foreign nationals/ NRI Candidates. Candidates are required to give the undertaking for the same.
