B.M.S. College of Engineering (BMSCE) Bengaluru has the unique distinction of being the first private engineering college established in the country in 1946. The Government of Karnataka aids the college.
The institute is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and is permanently affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technical University (VTU), Belagavi. The college is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with the highest grade of A++ in the second cycle and a CGPA of 3.83 on a scale of four.
BMSCE is approved as a QIP centre in Engineering & Technology by AICTE. The College became autonomous, UGC approved, in 2008 and has been effectively practicing outcomes-based education.
BMSCE is the only partner institution in the country of the Melton Foundation, USA which promotes cross-cultural learning for the selected students along with peers from five other countries.
Currently, all undergraduate programs and postgraduate programs hold the status of accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The college currently offers 17 undergraduate & 15 postgraduate courses both in conventional and emerging areas.

Admission
Candidates can be admitted in four years of a bachelor of engineering, candidates should appear in the entrance exam of KEA/ COMED-K, for postgraduate, candidates should appear in the Entrance exam: KMT/ CMAT/ MAT/ PGCET,
International Admission
NRIs- Children of Indian Parents who are working in Gulf countries are eligible for admission under the Gulf quota.
Foreign Nationals- Citizens of all countries other than India.
PIO- persons who are citizens of other countries (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) who at any time held an Indian Passport, or who either of his parents or any of his grandparents was a citizen of India by the provisions of the constitution of India.

- BMSCE has recently achieved the prestigious ISO 14001:2015 certification for its Environmental Management System Through qualified external ISO 14001 auditors.
- The UGC, New Delhi extended the autonomous status of the institute for a period of 10 years from the session 2022-23 to 2031-32: with a CGPA of 3.83 on a scale of four which is the highest in the country. The re-accreditation status is valid from 28.03.2019 to 28.03.2024.
- tBMSCE has the distinction of being one of the 100 higher education institutions in the country awarded a 5G use Case laboratory by the Government of India.
- In the ARIIA (ATAL Rankins) 2021, the college is ranked in band-excellent.
Placement
BMSCE has a department of training and placement. The institution firmly believes that placement is the major benchmark for the performance of the institute. The centre has very active linkages and collaborations with industry.
The centre provided value-added services like personal interviews, analytical, quantitative, reasoning, mock tests, and team spirit and enterprise dynamics as part of their pre placement training.
It also facilitates a web portal service for students to take up simulated online tests. The centre offers complete state-of-the-art physical, communication, and computing infrastructure for its effective functioning and the best arrangement necessary to facilitate the officials' and companies' visits for placements.
More than 350 reputed National and Multinational companies visit their institute for campus recruitment annually.
Placement process
- The placement office shall communicate, network, and build relations with potential recruiters. Students seeking placement shall register for the campus placements.
- The placement office confirms his/her registration, participates in pre-placement visits to the companies, and conducts grooming and training of the students for better placements.
- Send invitations to potential recruiters to visit the institute and procure relevant details regarding the final placements. Respond to recruiters' intention to participate.
- The placement team communicates the dates for campus visits for each recruiter by considering factors like students' preferences, job profiles, etc.
- Companies are encouraged to provide pre-placement talks with the candidates before the commencement of the recruitment process.
- The companies conduct rounds of the selection process and inform the names of selected students of the placement department.
- The placement office conducts general follow-up, joining formalities, and other administrative activities.

Hostel
The B.M.S. Educational Trust (BMSET) is a prestigious institution that founded and manages the top-class colleges viz., B.M.S. College of Engineering (BMSCE), BMS Institute of Technology & Management, BMS College of Law, BMS College for women and other institutions.
Hostels are independent units concerning their internal administration under the overall supervision of the council of wardens and the hostel management.
