Indian Institute of Information Technology Admission 2025: Important Dates, Courses, Application Process

Admission to the B.Tech programs at the IIIT Sonipat for the academic year 2025 is based on candidates' performance in the Joint Entrance Examination Main. The applicant should have done 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and should have at least 75% marks (65% for SC / ST / PwD candidate) or he should be in the top 20% of the respective board. 

Following the JEE Main results, the candidates get enrolled in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority counseling process where the seats are allotted according to the JEE ranks, preferences and seats available. There are a total of three B.Tech Programs offered by IIIT Sonipat namely Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology and Data Science & Analytics with an annual intake of 30 students in each program. Admissions to the prospective candidate who is a Non-Resident Indian, Overseas Citizen of India and Person of Indian Origin are facilitated by the Direct Admission of Students Abroad scheme which also considers the JEE main scores.

IIIT UG Admission 2025

IIIT Sonepat follows centralized counseling under JoSAA & CSAB for admission of UG students in the courses based on the marks scored in JEE Main. The candidates should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry or Computer Science. The admission is based on JEE Main ranks, category cut and seat availability. Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology are the two offered B.Tech programs. The UG admissions at IIIT Sonepat do not require a separate entrance exam or interviews. The counseling dates, registration and choice filling must be checked regularly in JoSAA’s official portal by students.

• Appear for JEE Main 2025: To apply for B.Tech programs at IIIT Sonepat, the candidates need to register for JEE Main 2025 conducted by NTA and qualify for the same.
• Eligibility Criteria: The applicants should have appeared for 10+2 and had to secure Physics and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects along with one or another science subject. Apart from this, candidates need to have a valid JEE Main rank also.
• Register for JoSAA Counseling: Candidates after the JEE Main result then need to register for JoSAA Counseling on the JoSAA portal which is mandatory for admission to IIITs.
• Choice Filling and Seat Allotment: IIIT Sonepat and their preferred B.Tech branches have to be chosen in JoSAA counseling. Seat is given depending on rank, category and availability of seat.
• Document Verification and Admission Confirmation: After allotting seats, candidates must go to the reporting center or online portal to confirm admission, do document verification and fee payments.
