Sports Complex

The Sports Complex at IIT Delhi includes a variety of amenities to assist various athletic activities. The facility features a 400-meter racetrack, a walking/running track, and a variety of sports fields and courts. Athletics, cricket, hockey, football, basketball, tennis, and volleyball are among the sports supported at the facility. Other amenities include an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a gym with separate rooms for men and women, and a snooker table.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are an important aspect of student life at IIT Delhi. The Board for Hostel Management (BHM) is in charge of 17 hostels: 12 for men, 4 for women, and 1 for transitory female students. These hostels accommodate around 7,000 students out of a total of 13,000. While rooms are assigned according to institute policies, not all students, particularly male postgraduate students, are promised immediate dormitory lodging. Undergraduate and graduate students live in both older, non-air-conditioned dorms and newer, centrally air-conditioned rooms. Due to a scarcity of hostel rooms, some students may be forced to seek private lodging off campus.
