The Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) in Pune is one of Maharashtra's premier engineering institutes. Every year, a huge number of students apply to this institute using multiple admission exams, including MHT CET, JEE Main, MAH MCA CET, and MAHCET. The cut-offs for these tests decide whether candidates are eligible for admission to various undergraduate and graduate programs at MIT.
MHT CET is the state-level entrance exam for admission to several engineering courses in Maharashtra. The cut-off percentage changes each course and round of counselling. The table below shows the cut-off percentiles for the General Open (GOPENS) category in 2023, throughout three rounds of counselling.
Courses | Round 1 | Round 2 | Round 3 |
---|---|---|---|
B.Tech Computer Science Engineering | 83.17 | 84.21 | 82.54 |
B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Data Science | 78.33 | 78.04 | 80.62 |
B.Tech Computer Science and Design | 71.27 | 70.51 | 73.27 |
B.Tech Electronics and Computer Engineering | 64.1 | 69.22 | 76.04 |
B.Tech Agricultural Engineering | 53.65 | 20.15 | 0.53 |
The B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering program has the highest cut-off percentage, with Round 1 ending at 83.17% and Round 2 slightly higher at 84.21%. On the other hand, courses such as Agricultural Engineering had much lower cut-offs, with Round 1 closing at 53.65% and Round 3 reaching as low as 0.53%.
The predicted cut-off trends for 2024 should follow the same pattern. Students seeking extremely competitive degrees such as Computer Science Engineering should aim for a percentile greater than 80%.
MAH MCA CET is the entrance test for the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program in Maharashtra. The following is the cut-off for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category at MIT in 2024:
Courses | Round 1 |
---|---|
MCA | 47.36 |
The MAHCET is the entrance test for several MBA schools in Maharashtra. The cut-off for the EWS category in MIT's MBA programs for 2024 is as follows:
Courses | Round 1 |
---|---|
MBA Human Resource | 34.8 |
MBA Finance | 34.8 |
MBA Marketing | 34.8 |
MBA Agribusiness | 34.8 |
MBA Hospital Management | 34.8 |
JEE Main is a national engineering entrance exam administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). MIT recognises JEE Main scores as admission to its engineering programs. The table below displays the JEE Main cut-off ranks for the General category in 2023 after two rounds of counselling:
Courses | Round 2 | Round 3 |
---|---|---|
B.Tech Computer Science Engineering | 24018 | 22798 |
B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Data Science | 27070 | 28735 |
B.Tech Civil Engineering | 30328 | 75997 |
B.Tech Computer Science and Design | 31397 | 25423 |
B.Tech Electronics and Computer Engineering | 34676 | 31753 |
The highest cut-off in Round 2 for JEE Main was for B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering, which ended up at rank 24,018. By Round 3, the cut-off rank had dropped somewhat to 22,798, making the course competitive for students. The Civil Engineering course had a somewhat lower cut-off, with Round 3 ending at rank 75,997.
Students pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering or Artificial Intelligence and Data Science should aim for rankings in the top 30,000.
