Maharashtra MBA Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants must meet the Maharashtra MBA eligibility criteria for admission. The eligibility details are mentioned below for the MBA admission process in Maharashtra:

  • Candidates must have passed a minimum three-year bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the UGC or AIU.
  • General category candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate (or equivalent). For candidates from Maharashtra belonging to backwards class categories, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and Persons with Disability (PwD), the minimum required is 45% marks in aggregate.
  • The candidate should be an Indian national.
  • Candidates appearing for their final year bachelor’s degree examination are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the minimum marks criteria at the time of admission.
  • Reserved category candidates must provide a valid Caste Validity Certificate (for SC, VJ/DT (NT (A)), NT (B), NT(C), NT (D), OBC, SBC and SEBC categories) issued by the Scrutiny Committee of the Social Welfare Department.
  • For Maharashtra State candidates, a non-zero positive score in the MAH MBA/ MMS-CET is required. All India category candidates can apply with valid scores from CAT, CMAT, XAT, MAT, or GMAT, as per the admission guidelines.

Maharashtra MBA Admission Process

The Maharashtra MBA admission process is similar for the top MBA colleges in Maharashtra; however, the admission process for IIM Mumbai is given below:

 

Ensure you have a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) or are in the final year of your degree, passing eligibility.

  • Appear for CAT and get a minimum required sectional and overall percentile cutoff (85 percentile overall for a general category).
  • The candidates may go through the process of registration and application on the official website of the IIM Mumbai Admission Portal after the CAT results are declared.
  • The shortlisted candidates will be able to check their shortlisting status on the official website by entering their CAT credentials.
  • Those who meet the criteria must take part in the Personal Interview rounds (PI) at Mumbai and other centres, usually taking place from February to April.
  • The final selection of candidates will be based on CAT score, PI performance, academic record, work experience, and gender diversity.
  • Selected candidates must accept the admission offer and complete the enrollment process to secure their seat.

How long is the MAH CET score valid for?

The Maharashtra CET MBA score is held valid only for the admission cycle of the year in which the examination is conducted. Candidates must appear for the examination every year in case they wish to apply in subsequent admission cycles.

Are there any reservations/seat quotas in Maharashtra MBA admissions?

Yes, in Maharashtra, reservation policies are applicable as per the government provisions, including those for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD candidates.
