MBA in Business Analytics is a two-year postgraduate course that aims to teach students the necessary tools to analyze, interpret and exploit data to make strategic business decisions. The curriculum is still structured to offer a balanced combination of knowledge on managing and advanced analytics methods that include such topics as Statistics, Data Mining, Predictive Modeling, Machine Learning, and Data Visualization.

 

The program organization is normally over 4 semesters. Year one gives students a solid foundation in management, quantitative methods and the basics of analytic tools. Continuing down the line, as they advance progressively, the coursework concentrates further on higher-level subjects such as big data analytics, artificial intelligence, and business intelligence systems.

 

During the last semester, a student completes a capstone project or internship, when they can work on real-world issues in the industry, usually in cooperation with the most successful businesses. MBA Business Analytics Exam Pattern

Provided below is the exam pattern for MBA Business Analytics, with specific reference to Delhi University. The exam structure is consistent across most leading public and private institutions, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of analytical and managerial competencies.

  • Theory exams are also completed at the end of each semester, where written papers carry half of the marks and the other half is on the internal assessments in the form of assignments, case studies and presentations in all core and elective subjects.

Practical and lab-based courses, especially in data analytics, data visualization, and programming, are evaluated through laboratory exercises, project reports, and viva-voce. Practical exams often carry 50% weightage in these courses.

Internal Assessments

Continuous assessment through assignments, case studies, quizzes, presentations, and class participation. Internal marks (usually 20–40 per subject) are awarded based on performance in these activities throughout the semester.

Project Work & Viva

In the final semester, students undertake a major project or dissertation, which is evaluated through a written report, presentation, and viva-voce. Summer internships between the first and second year are also assessed via reports and presentations.
