The AIMA MAT 2025 cutoff is expected to be released by the third week of June 2025, after the AIMA MAT 2025 results are declared on the official AIMA website. The cutoff will be determined based on various factors, including the number of applicants, the exam's difficulty level, and seat availability at the participating institutes.

The AIMA MAT 2025 cutoff will help candidates know their chances of getting admission into MBA/PGDM programs at top B-schools in India. Candidates who meet the minimum cutoff score will be eligible for further rounds of the admission process, such as counselling, group discussions, and personal interviews. Those who fail to meet the cutoff will not be considered for admission.

Factors Influencing AIMA MAT 2025 Cutoff

The AIMA MAT 2025 cutoff for each participating institute varies based on several key factors. These factors play a significant role in determining the minimum score or percentile required for further selection rounds. The main influencing factors include:

  • Number of Applicants: A higher number of test-takers usually leads to increased competition, which can raise the cutoff scores.
  • Difficulty Level of the Exam: If the MAT exam is perceived to be more challenging in a particular session, cutoffs may be relatively lower, and vice versa.
  • Number of Seats Available: Institutes with limited seat intake tend to have higher cutoffs due to the increased competition for fewer seats.
  • Reputation and Ranking of the Institute: Well-established or highly ranked B-schools generally have higher cutoff scores compared to lesser-known institutes.
  • Past Year Cutoff Trends: Historical cutoff trends of an institute often influence the current year’s expected cutoff range.
  • Category of the Candidate: Some institutes may have category-wise cutoffs (General, SC, ST, OBC), which can vary significantly.
  • Academic Background and Work Experience: Although the MAT score is a primary factor, some institutes also consider academic performance and professional experience, which can influence the effective cutoff in the final merit list.

AIMA MAT Selection Procedure 2025

The All India Management Association (AIMA) conducts the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) for admission to MBA and PGDM programs across India, with the selection and admission processes handled individually by participating institutes. The MAT 2025 selection procedure begins with candidates registering on the official website and selecting up to five management institutes (or seven if opting for both PBT and CBT modes) to receive their scores.

The exam is conducted in Paper-Based Test (PBT) and Computer-Based Test (CBT) formats, scheduled for May 31 and June 8, 2025, respectively, with results expected by the third week of June. After the exam, AIMA sends the scores to the selected institutes, and candidates wishing to apply to additional institutes must do so separately.

Each institute then shortlists candidates based on its own MAT cutoff, followed by further admission rounds such as Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI), or Written Ability Test (WAT). Final selection is based on performance in these rounds, along with academic record and work experience. AIMA does not conduct centralized counselling, and MAT scores remain valid for one year from the date of result declaration.
