IIT Roorkee closed the correction window for the GATE Application Form 2025. The last dates for correction were November 20, 2024, for general candidates and November 22, 2024, for PwD candidates. Additionally, the conducting authority introduced a revised list of two-paper combinations for registered applicants. Along with it, the authority also released GATE 2025 branch-wise exam dates. Candidates who needed to modify or select their preferred test papers had to do so through the GOAPS 2025 portal. 

The GATE 2025 registration process was carried out through the official exam portal. The exam is set to take place on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, in two shifts.

The Exam authority closed the GATE 2025 Registration window on October 11, 2024, with a late fee. The GATE 2025 Registration Fee structure was set at INR 900 for female, SC, ST, and PwD candidates, while general category applicants were required to pay INR 1800. 

IIT Roorkee is responsible for organising the GATE 2025 exam, which serves as a gateway for M.Tech and PhD admissions in premier institutions such as IITs, NITs, and IIITs, as well as for job opportunities in top PSUs like GAIL, SAIL, and IOCL.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, the organizing institute for GATE 2025, has outlined the following schedule.

GATE 2025 Eligibility Criteria

GATE 2025 Eligibility Criteria states that applicants must possess 3-year or 4-year bachelor's degrees to appear in the GATE 2025 Examination. Both Indian nationals and foreign nationals are eligible to apply. The detailed breakdown of GATE 2025 Eligibility Criteria is presented below.

 Applicants needed to meet the following eligibility requirements.

  1. Academic Qualifications.
    • Bachelor’s Degree. Candidates should have completed or be in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Architecture (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after Diploma/B.Sc.).
    • Master’s Degree. Candidates in the final year of a Master’s degree in Science, Computer Applications, Statistics, or equivalent were also eligible.
  2. Nationality.
    • Both Indian nationals and candidates from countries such as Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Ethiopia, and the UAE could apply.
  3. Age Limit.
    • There was no age restriction for appearing in the GATE exam.
  4. Number of Attempts.
    • Candidates could attempt the GATE examination multiple times, as there were no restrictions on the number of attempts.

GATE 2025 Application: How to Apply?

The GATE 2025 Application Process was conducted entirely online through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). The process encompassed several key steps.

Registration

Candidates registered by providing their full name, valid email ID, and mobile number. Upon successful registration, a unique Enrollment ID was generated for future logins.

Filling the Application Form

Applicants logged in using their Enrollment ID and password to fill in personal details, academic qualifications, and their preferred GATE paper and examination cities.

Uploading Documents

Candidates uploaded scanned copies of their recent passport-sized photograph, signature, and other requisite documents such as category certificates (if applicable) and valid photo ID proof.

Payment of Application Fee

The application fee varied based on the candidate's category.

  • General/OBC-NCL/EWS. INR 1700 (regular period) or INR 2200 (extended period).
  • Female/SC/ST/PwD. INR 850 (regular period) or INR 1350 (extended period).
  • Foreign Nationals. USD 100 (regular period) or USD 150 (extended period).

Submission 

After reviewing all entered information and ensuring its accuracy, candidates submitted the application form and retained a printout for future reference.

GATE 2025 Application Form Correction

IIT Roorkee provided an application form correction window from November 6 to November 13, 2024, allowing candidates to rectify specific details in their submitted forms. Modifiable fields included name, date of birth, category, exam city, and paper selection. Some changes required an additional fee (INR 500). Candidates were encouraged to review their applications meticulously before submission to minimize the need for corrections.

Note. Non-compliance may lead to rejection of the application, and the fee will not be refunded. Educational certificates, category certificates (SC/ST/PwD), and ID proofs must be clear and in the specified format (PDF for certificates, JPG/JPEG for photos and signatures).

To submit the GATE 2025 Application Form, candidates must follow the steps below.

  • Visit the official GATE 2025 website. gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
  • Log in using GATE 2025 enrollment ID and password.
  • Fill in all required details, upload documents, and pay the application fee.
  • Submit the form and download the confirmation page for future reference.

GATE 2025 Application Form: Post-Submission Steps

Confirmation Email: After submission, candidates will receive a confirmation email. If they don’t then they need to check their spam folder or contact support.

Tracking Application Status: Log in to the GOAPS portal to check the application status. If the status shows “Under Scrutiny,” then the application is being reviewed.

GATE 2025 Admit Card 

The GATE 2025 Admit card is out on the GOAPS 2025 portal. The authority released the admit card on January 7, 2025. Candidates can log in and download the admit card using their enrollment ID and password. If candidates face issues while downloading the admit card they should clear their browser cache or try a different browser.

Technical Issues. A Bad Gateway or Error connection is a common issue among GATE applicants during registration. Due to high traffic website may crash, in that case, candidates must few minutes before starting the application process. If the issue persists they can try filling the GATE 2025 application form in incognito mode. Similarly, clearing the site cache will also help with hassle-free registration.

Payment Failure. Ensure a stable internet connection. If payment fails but the amount is deducted, wait 15 days for a refund or contact support.

Document Upload Errors. Ensure documents are in the correct format and size.

Mismatch in Details. Candidates must ensure all details match their government-issued ID and educational certificates.

Unreadable Documents. Rescan documents to ensure clarity and readability.
