After taking the GMAT exam, test-takers can see their unofficial scores right away. The official scores are available a few days later.
The GMAT 2025 exam gives three scores: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights. These three sections are equally important in calculating the total score.
The new GMAT Focus Edition has an updated score range from 205 to 805. Each section is scored the same way, and the total score always ends in 5.
GMAT scores help measure a test-taker’s data skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. The final score is based on how many questions were answered correctly.

GMAT Focus Edition Scoring
With the launch of the GMAT Focus Edition, it is important to understand the updated scoring system. The current GMAT scores are based on Quantitative Reasoning (QR) and Verbal Reasoning (VR), but the GMAT Focus Edition introduces an additional section called Data Insights. This means the new GMAT Focus Edition score will be based on three sections instead of two. The total GMAT Focus Edition score will range from 205 to 805, with all scores ending in 5. The score intervals will be 10 points, and each section will have a score range between 60 and 90. Students must ensure they complete all sections of the exam, as failing to do so will result in a penalty. After completing the test, candidates will receive their unofficial scores for Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Data Insights, and the Total Score immediately.
