Management Aptitude Test, or MAT, is a national-level entrance exam administered by the All India Management Association (AIMA) for admission to MBA/PGDM programs at India's 800+ business schools. MAT is conducted in four phases: February, May, September, and December. Candidates can take the exam in one of three modes: offline (Paper Based Test or PBT), online (Computer Based Test or CBT), or remotely proctored. Candidates can take the MAT several times. The score from the most recent MAT test attempt is considered for admission. The MAT content and are identical to those used for other MBA entrance tests, with 150 multiple-choice questions from English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Knowledge to be answered in 120 minutes.

MAT Eligibility Criteria 2025

Aspirants who want to take the MAT test in 2025 must meet certain academic prerequisites set by the AIMA. The following are the eligibility criteria for the MAT exam 2025:

  • Candidates must have graduated or earned an equivalent degree from a UGC-recognised university.
  • A bachelor's degree can be in any field of study.
  • Students in their last year of graduation who are awaiting their results are also eligible to register for the MAT 2025.
  • There is no minimum score needed for the MAT. Candidates who have received passing marks are eligible to take the exam.
  • There is no age limit to participate in MAT. Fresh graduates and working professionals are both eligible to take the exam.
  • Candidates with a professional degree, such as CA, CS, or ICWA, can also apply for the MAT exam.

MAT Application Process 2025

The MAT application form 2025 for CBT and PBT is common. Candidates who intend to appear for the MAT exam can fill out the form by following the instructions below:

  • Go to the AIMA-MAT website at https://mat.aima.in/
  • Click the'register' option.
  • Enter your name, date of birth, email address, mobile number, state, city, test mode, and password.
  • Use the ID shared via email and phone for authentication.
  • On the following page, select your desired test format (CBT, PBT, IBT), test cities, and five preferred B-Schools.
  • Make the fee payment of INR 2,100 via debit/credit card, net banking, or e-wallet. 
  • Enter academic and other facts into the MAT 2025 application form.
  • Upload a recent passport-sized photo and scanned signature.
  • Complete the process by pressing the submit button.
  • An acknowledgement of MAT form submission will be given by email.

Note: MAT PBT and MAT CBT test centres are located in separate cities. Thus, before picking a test mode, be sure it is available in your city. Once selected, the MAT test city cannot be altered after the form has been submitted. Thus, candidates must carefully consider their possibilities.

MAT Answer Key 2025

If there are disparities, candidates can file objections, which may result in a modest cost per question.

MAT Results 2025

MAT Cut-Off 2024

The MAT cut off is the minimum score required for selection to the group discussion and personal interview rounds at MBA colleges that accept exam scores for admission. Candidates who fulfil the MAT cutoff are chosen for the admission phase. MAT cutoffs are typically lower than those for other MBA entry tests such as CAT, XAT, and CMAT.
