OUAT Eligibility Criteria 2025: Educational Qualification, Age Limit, Domicile Criteria

The Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) will soon release the eligibility criteria for OUAT 2025 on the official website, ouat.nic.in. Candidates intending to appear for the exam are advised to review the eligibility criteria once the official notification is published, before proceeding with the OUAT 2025 application form.

Based on previous years, the OUAT 2025 eligibility criteria generally require candidates to be citizens of India, possess a domicile certificate of Odisha, and have passed the 12th standard (or an equivalent examination) with English as one of the compulsory subjects. Candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination for general candidates (45% for SC/ST candidates). 

For undergraduate programs, candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology/Computer Science/Biotechnology as core subjects. For postgraduate programs, candidates typically must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution in a relevant field, with a minimum aggregate percentage of marks (usually 50% for general candidates and 45% for SC/ST candidates).

OUAT 2025 Age Limit

For UG programs, candidates should have completed 17 years of age by December 31, 2025. For PG programs, there is no age limit. 

OUAT UG 2025 Eligibility Criteria

B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture / B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture / B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry / B.Sc. (Hons.) Community Science

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology from a recognized board.
  • Minimum Marks: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required for General and OBC candidates, and 40% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering)

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized board.
  • Minimum Marks: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required for General and OBC candidates, and 40% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

B.F.Sc. (Bachelor of Fisheries Science) and B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry)

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from a recognized board.
  • Minimum Marks: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required for General and OBC candidates, and 40% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

OUAT PG 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The detailed course-wise eligibility criteria for OUAT PG 2025 are provided below for applicants' reference.

M.Sc. (Mathematics)

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a B.Sc. degree with Honors in Mathematics, a major in Mathematics and Computing, or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Honors/Major/Core subjects is required for General and OBC candidates, and 45% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

M.Sc. (Microbiology)

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a B.Sc. degree with Honors in Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related fields. Alternatively, degrees such as B.Sc. (Horticulture), B.Sc. (Agriculture), B.V.Sc. & A.H., B.F.Sc., B.Tech. (Dairy Science/Biotechnology), or B.H.M.S. from a recognised university are also eligible.
  • Minimum Marks: A minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination is required for General and OBC candidates, and 45% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

OUAT 2025 Additional Eligibility Considerations

Apart from the basic academic qualifications, age limits, and subject requirements, candidates applying for OUAT 2025 must fulfil certain additional eligibility criteria. These criteria ensure that candidates meet specific domicile, language, and physical fitness requirements. Below are the detailed additional eligibility considerations:

Physical Fitness for B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry: Candidates must meet specific physical standards, including height and chest measurements, and should be physically fit for activities like fast walking.

Physical Standards

  • Height: Minimum of 163 cm for General and SC male candidates (152 cm for ST); 150 cm for General and SC female candidates (145 cm for ST).
  • Chest Girth: 79 cm to 84 cm for males (minimum 5 cm expansion); 74 cm to 79 cm for females (minimum 5 cm expansion).

Physical Endurance: Ability to walk quickly over a distance of 25 km in four hours for males and 14 km for females.

Odia Language Requirement: Candidates should have studied Odia as a subject in their 10th standard. If not, they must furnish proof of Odia language proficiency or evidence of their parents' permanent residency in Odisha.

Non-Resident Odia Candidates: Candidates whose parents are serving under the Government of Odisha/Central Government/Public Sector Undertakings or any University in the state of Odisha must provide a certificate from the head of the office/institution where their parents are employed.
