NEW DELHI: Prime minister Narendra Modi will participate in the program marking ‘Veer Baal Diwas’ on December 26, 2023. The event will commence at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from 10:30 am.
On this occasion, PM Narendra Modi will wave a flag to signal the start of the march-past by youth in Delhi. The government is organizing participatory events across the country to pay tribute to this day. These events aim to inform everyone, especially young children, about the remarkable courage of the Sahibzades.
Schools and daycare facilities around the country will present a digital exhibition chronicling the life story and sacrifice of the Sahibzades.
A film on 'Veer Baal Diwas' will also be played around the country. There will also be competitions online such as interactive quizzes organised through the MYBharat and MyGov portals.
On 9th January 2022, Prime Minister declared that the 26th of December would be commemorated as 'Veer Bal Diwas'. This tribute honors the martyrdom of Sri Guru Gobind Singh's sons, Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji.
Today, on the auspicious occasion of the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, I am honoured to share that starting this year, 26th December shall be marked as 'Veer Baal Diwas.' This is a fitting tribute to the courage of the Sahibzades and their quest for justice. Veer Baal Diwas will be on the same day Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji attained martyrdom after being sealed alive in a wall. These two greats preferred death instead of deviating from the noble principles of Dharma, PM Modi tweeted on January 9, 2022.
