NVS 2025 exam dates have been announced by the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST). Phase 1 and 2 exam dates are January 18 and April 12, 2025 respectively. The registration process has already commenced and the deadline is now extended from September 16 to September 23, 2024. The test is conducted on a district level twice every year. The Board reserved a total of 1/3rd of the total seats for female candidates and 75% for the students living in the rural area.
NVS 2025
NVS 2025 registration process is carried out at the online portal, navodaya.gov.in. Students need to upload the information of Aadhaar Card or any other government-issued documents while registering. Candidates are not charged any fee for filling up the application form. A total of 2417009 students registered in the 2021-22 academic year. Post-completion of filling out the application form, students need to take a printed copy of the duly filled application form.
NVS exam is conducted in an offline pen and paper-based mode. The exam is conducted in multiple languages including Hindi and English. There will be a total of 80 questions of 100 marks. Every correct answer dwells a +1.25 mark and there is no negative marking. The duration of the exam is 2 hours, however, there will be a sectional time limit also. Candidates will be required to mark their answers with either a blue or a black ballpoint pen.
What is NVS 2025 Examination?
NVS or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Selection Test is held for class 5 passed students for admission into class 6. The test is administered on a district level by the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST). Majorly rural-based candidates appear for the test, and 75% of the seats are also reserved for the same. Previously, the exam used to be conducted by the NCERT, and presently the curriculum is based on the CBSE Board. Students who are appearing for the test must submit the respective signature copy of the Headmaster of the institution where the same completed his/ her 3rd, 4th, and 5th standard. Presently 653 JNVSTs are located in over 27 States and 8 Union Territories (UTs).

NVS 2025 Application Process
The registration process is completely an online one and is carried out at the portal, navodaya.gov.in. Students need to register with his/ her name, parents’ names, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, etc. Along with the aforementioned details, students need to add the details of their Aadhaar Card or any other Government-issued ID proof. Candidates will also be required to upload scanned photographs and signatures within 10-100 KB in JPG format. No application fee is charged to apply for NVS examination. Once the registration process is complete, students need to take a printout of NVS 2025 application form by logging in with his/ her respective registration numbers, and date of birth.
NVS 2025 Eligibility Criteria
The candidates appearing for the NVS 2025 examination, must reside in the same district where the JNVST is located. According to the age limit, students must be born before May 1, 2013 and after July 31, 2015. All the students must complete their 5th standard education from a recognized Board not earlier than 2024-25 academic year. Students must complete his/ her 3rd, 4th, and 5th standards from the same institution, and must produce the Headmaster's signature of the same during admission.
NVS 2025 Syllabus
The syllabus of NVS 2025 examination will be of the 5th standard. The syllabus includes major topics from the Mental Ability, Arithmetic Test, and Language Test subjects. NVS 2025 Admit Card
All the successfully registered students can download respective admit cards from the website, navodaya.gov.in. The admit card is one of the important documents to be carried on the examination day and must be kept till the day of admission. The admit cards from the website, navodaya.gov.in, can be downloaded by entering the registration ID and date of birth. Upon downloading the admit card, details such as name, father’s name, date of birth, roll number, gender, category, state, exam date, instructions, etc. will remain mentioned. As per the guidelines, students must report at respective test center at 10:30 PM sharp.

NVS 2025 Results
NVS results or scorecards can be downloaded via logging in with respective registration number/ admission number and date of birth. All the shortlisted students will also be informed about their results from the official’s end on his/ her registered mail ID and via post as well. Upon the selection, the documents like proof of date of birth, Aadhaar Card copy, headmaster’s signature of the school completion till class 5, medical fitness certifcate, etc. In 2023-24, all the 69 students who appeared for the test passed the examination.
NVS 2025 Cut Off
NVS 2025 cut off will be made based on the number of students who appeared for the exam and qualified, and the number of intakes available for class 6. Students can refer to the following cut off marks of the previous year, as detailed below:
