Government Law College, popularly known as GLC, is a government college that came into existence in 1855 and is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. GLC is among the oldest law colleges in Asia and is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. It is the repository of knowledge in the legal field and has the privilege of guidance and training under pioneer legal personalities. GLC Mumbai Courses and Fees 

The Government Law College offers admission to LLB and BLS LLB courses at the UG level, PG Diploma, and LLM courses at the PG level. GLC Mumbai Admission Process

GLC Mumbai Admission to the BLS LLB and LLB courses is offered based on the candidate’s merit in MHT CET Law followed by further counselling rounds. The candidate’s merit in the previous qualifying exam is considered for Diploma, PG Diploma, and PG Certificate Admission. The last date to register for MH CET 3 or 5-year LLB registration is March 17, 2025. Students seeking admission to merit-based courses can apply online on the institute's official website. Students have to follow the below-mentioned steps to apply to the courses offered by the college: 

  • Register for the MH CET Law exam 
  • Appear for the MH CET Law exam
  • On clearing the cutoff, register for CAP Counselling. 
  • Students have to select GLC Mumbai as the preferred college at the time of counselling
  • Pay the application fee online
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button for the final submission

  • Hostel: GLC Mumbai does not provide any hostel facilities for its students. However, 65 seats for male students of the College in the Matoshri Government Hostel, “C” Road, Churchgate, Mumbai, & 20 Seats for male students at the Ismail Yusuf College at Jogeshwari, Mumbai, and 75 seats for female students of Five Year Law Course of the College in the Savitri devi Phule Mahila Chhatralaya, Charni Road, Mumbai & 50 seats for female students of Three Year Law Course of the College in the Telang Hostel, “C” Road, Churchgate, Mumbai has been provided. 
  • Sports Facilities: The college has a mini gymkhana on the campus to contribute towards the holistic development of a student. 
  • The Oval Maidan is very close to the college and is frequently used by cricket and football enthusiasts.

Can I get direct admission at GLC Mumbai?

Yes. Students can get direct admission to the Diploma and Certificate courses based on their performance in the previous year's exam. However, admission to LLB, BLS LLB, and LLM courses is based on the candidate’s MHT CET Law exam performance.
