The National Centre for Cell Science is an independent research facility at the national level, also known as NCCS. In many areas of cell biology, it is among the leading research institutes. NCCS got awards from Padma Shree, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Awards, National Bioscience Award, and Swarnajayanti Fellowship.
