The University of North Bengal is a government-funded major research university located in Siliguri. Otherwise known as North Bengal University (NBU), it was founded in 1962 under an Act of the Legislature of West Bengal. NBU has recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and a 'Grade A' accreditation by NAAC. It is also an AIU member of the Association of Indian Universities. The university is also the affiliating institution for 50 colleges located in Alipurduar, Coochbehar, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, and Uttar Dinajpur districts.
NBU consists of two faculties that have over 30 departments offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses, diplomas, and vocational courses. It provides courses in different subjects of Arts, Commerce, and Science, such as Microbiology, Law, Mathematics, Economics, Sociology, Mass Communication, Management, Computer Science & Application, Chemistry, and History. North Bengal University Admission 2025
Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria can submit their application form by visiting the official website of the university. The students must submit the form in online mode only. The university has reserved 60% seats in PG programs for the students belonging to the University of North Bengal and the remaining 40% seats are available for students from other universities.
