The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research - National Eligibility Test, or CSIR NET 2025, will be held in June 2025 and December 2025. CSIR is a National Eligibility Test organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA). CSIR provides Research Fellowships for training in research methods under expert guidance of faculty members/scientists working in University Department/ National Laboratories and Institutions in various fields of Science.

CSIR NET 2025 Exam Dates

Dates are crucial pieces of information that every candidate looks forward to. The CSIR NET 2025 will be administered in June 2025 and all the other dates are provided here.

CSIR NET 2025 Application Form

Completing an application form is an important first step for any candidate. From the second week of December 2025, candidates will be able to register with the help of filling up an application form in a bid to stay online on a virtual website. Being careful is all that a candidate needs when filling out the exam form, ensuring accuracy and all relevant information. More information is provided below.

  1. NTA will release the CSIR 2025 application form through online mode.
  2. Candidates will be able to fill out an application form from September 2025 (expected).
  3. During the form filling process, candidates will have to enter details such as personal, academic, exam centre, etc.
  4. After filling the form, upload documents such as scanned signature & photograph in the prescribed format.
  5. Candidates are advised to fulfil eligibility criteria from below before proceeding to fill out the form.
  6. The NTA will also provide facilities to make corrections in form after submission in case of any mistake.
  7. After uploading documents in form, complete the process by submitting a prescribed amount of application fee using available gateways.
  8. Recheck and review filled details in form and proceed to the further steps.
  9. Applicants are advised to complete the application procedure before the last day of application.
  10. Submit the form and take a hardcopy of it for further usage in the admission procedure.

CSIR NET 2025 Application Fee

  1. Online facilities will be availed by NTA to submit the CSIR Net 2025 application fee.
  2. Debit cards, credit cards, UPI, and Net banking will be the online payment gateways to submit fees.
  3. No offline method will be provided to submit the fee.
  4. Once paid, the application fee will be not refunded to the candidates.

CSIR NET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The NTA sets the eligibility requirements. Every applicant is required to adhere to these requirements for the exam. It is recommended that candidates should review the eligibility requirements prior to completing the application. The eligibility criteria for the exam are listed below.

  1. A student who completed their Master’s degree in relevant field is eligible to apply for CSIR Net 2025.
  2. Candidates have to score a minimum of 55% in their master's degree qualifying test or an equivalent.
  3. Candidates applying for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) must be under 30 years of age.
  4. Students in their final year or those who are awaiting their results may also apply to take the CSIR NET test.

CSIR NET 2025 Exam Pattern

  1. Exam Mode: Exam will be conducted through online mode.
  2. Medium: The exam will be asked in English language and Hindi both.
  3. Duration: Total hours will be given to complete the exam.
  4. Type of Questions: Objective Type pattern (Multiple Choice Questions) will be asked in both paper 1 and paper 2.
  5. Total Questions: 75-150 (Depending on the subject). There are 3 parts, Part A, part B and Part C.
  6. Marking Scheme: 2 marks will be awarded for each correct answer for questions in part A and B. $ marks will be awarded for each correct question in part C.
  7. Negative Marking: For every incorrect response, 0.5 mark will be deducted for questions in part A and B. 1 mark will be deducted for incorrect questions of part C.

CSIR NET 2025 Syllabus

Paper I covers issues including reasoning ability, understanding, divergent thinking, and general awareness and with a focus on teaching etc. Paper II is subject-specific and contains comprehensive material related to the candidate's selected field of study.

CSIR NET 2025 Admit Card

  1. CSIR NET 2025 admit card will be released 15 days prior to the exam. The download link of admit cards will be activated on the website of NTA.
  2. Candidates will have to visit the website through online mode.
  3. Candidates will be able to access the hall ticket. Login details such as User ID and Password will be required to download admit cards.

CSIR NET 2025 Result

NTA will publish CSIR NET 2025 results through their website online. Qualified candidates will also be able to access their score report on the CSIR’s website. After downloading the result, candidates are advised to keep the hardcopy of it safe. As the hardcopy will be required for further usage in the admission procedure.

CSIR NET 2025 Cut Off

Candidates must score higher than the required cut-off scores to get admission to PhD. It will be released online on the website. Qualified candidates in the entrance exam will be eligible for admission and JRF based on the cut-off marks.
