NEST 2025 Cutoff: NEST cutoff 2025 are the marks which need to be obtained by candidates to get admitted into NISER as well as other institutes. Candidates are required to achieve NEST 2025 cutoff marks in sectionals, subject-wise, as well as in individual category cutoff marks. Authorities have released NEST exam cutoff marks shift-wise after the announcement of the NEST result 2025 which is as follows:
- The section-wise cutoff mark of NEST 2025 exam is termed as the Section-wise Minimum Admissible Score, whereas the overall cut-off marks are known as the Minimum Admissible Percentile.
- Candidates need to clear both SMAS and MAP for having a rank in the merit list of NISER and CEBS since exam conducting authorities changed the scheme last year to assess the result of the NEST exam.
- There was an obligation on earlier applicants to appear & pass all the four subjects.
- Now the marks in any one of the three subjects with full marks will be counted as passing marks of the NEST exam.

Factor Affecting NEST 2025 Cutoff
The authorities consider several factors while deciding the cutoff marks for determining the NEST cutoff marks. Several factors are considered while deciding the NEST cutoff marks, it is mentioned below:
- Total no of applicants appeared in the NEST exam
- The difficulty level of the exam.
- The cut-off marks i.e. SMAS will vary for each section as well as MAP for NISER and CEBS.
- Rank for NISER will be awarded to candidates scoring equal to and above the cut offs in MAP and SMAS, in the General section as well as all four sections.
- For CEBS, the candidate should have scores equal to and above the MAP and in SMAS in the General section and any three of the subject sections to secure a rank in the merit list.
