UGC NET 2025 Eligibility Criteria 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) sets the UGC NET 2025 eligibility criteria based on factors such as age, educational qualifications, and nationality.

Educational Qualifications

• General Category: Candidates must have secured at least 55% marks in their Master’s degree or equivalent examination from a recognized university.
• Reserved Categories (OBC, SC, ST, PwD, Third Gender): A minimum of 50% marks in a Master’s degree or equivalent is required.
• Final Year Students: Those who are in the final year of their Master’s program or awaiting results are also eligible to apply. However, they must complete their degree with the required percentage within the stipulated time frame.

Age Limit

• Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Candidates should not be more than 30 years old as of the first day of the month in which the examination concludes.
• Assistant Professorship: There is no upper age limit for candidates applying for the role of Assistant Professor.

UGC NET 2025 Application Process
