Indian Institute of Technology Madras is spread in an area of around 617 acres. It is a well known Institute which has great infrastructure containing primary health center with all facilities, classrooms,research labs, laboratories and computer labs, Cafeteria ,guest house for guests,indoor and outdoor sports facility, staff room, department rooms, Bank on Campus, parking lot and buss center for the students and staff etc.
Indian Institute of Technology Madras also has a huge auditorium with a capacity of over 2000, Open Air Theater, cricket ground, basketball ground. It also provides rooms for cultural activities, sports complex, eateries , library, laboratories etc.
 Library:
The College has a very well maintained library which has a great infrastructure with a 24/7 wifi enabled system. It also operates as an open access system centrally. Its library has a seating capacity of around 1000+ students which includes Students Aid Fund section, laptops, desktops, softwares provisions for differently-abled. The library of the College provides great opportunities to the students by providing various opportunities like internships, part time opportunities etc.
Laboratories:
IIT Madras provides various laboratories to the students under the program of engineering, management and technology etc. it has around 18+ research labs , computer labs with latest facilities and modern features. By these laboratories students will get hands-on experience in the field of various related programs and be able to visualize the real life things in easy ways.
Hospital:
IIT Madras provides a Hospital which is located near the central workshop of the college.it addresses the health or medical issues of the students. The institute has highly qualified doctors, apart from that institute also allows doctors from outsides like general surgeon, ENT surgeon, ophthalmologist etc. it also provides medical insurance for the students.
IT Infrastructure:
The College provides IT infrastructure for students to ensure the smooth academics. It provides 500+ laptops, 350+ desktops, 7 computer labs, browsing centers, and an e-learning center in the Library for students from various departments to gain hands-on experience in every field. It provides wifi for the whole campus which helps students to explore everything in the meantime.
Sports facilities:
The college provides sports facilities for students to relieve their stress from academics after academic activities. It provides opportunities in the field of sports which includes extra curricular activities. It provides facilities for various types of sports which are known as indoor and outdoor sports.
The College provides a well managed cricket ground which is spread across 1,60,800 square feets with five practice nets and various facilities. It also provides a football ground which is spread across 70,000 square feets and well maintained basketball, volleyball and badminton courts. As mentioned above it provides indoor games like carrom, chess and table tennis etc.
It also provides a gym in an open area for students to maintain well shaped bodies. It also allows students to avail swimming pool facilities at college. The swimming pools include personal trainers to help the students.
Canteens:
The College provides several types of Canteens for students to have the best food after the classes and labs. It provides one common canteen for the students and staff and other canteens for students called Bachelors Restaurant FFT, Indian Coffee House etc. The canteen has a well maintained hygiene kitchen with a highly qualified chef and everytime it uses fresh ingredients and items for the good taste and healthy environment.
Guest Room and post office:
The College Provides Guest rooms for guests who will be visiting the college for various purposes and post office facilities for students to post anything anywhere. It will be provided for guests who visit the college during the college events like tech fests , seminars, annual cultural fests , research programs etc. those who are willing to stay in the guest room should book before at least a week or two weeks through the college website.
Bank:
The college provides Banks in the campus to help the students to have smooth transactions or banking facilities. It provides banks like SBI Bank, Canara Bank and ICICI Bank. Students can visit these banks to have a better offline banking process for transactions or depositing the money and students can avail facilities like ATM machines for offline cash for their needs.
Shopping Complex:
IIT madras provides two shopping complexes for the students with various facilities. Among these two, one is called Student Facility Centre (Gurunath) which is located near the narmada hostel and second one is for general supplies, groceries, bakers and saloons etc.
