IISM Undergraduate (UG) Admission
International Institute of Sports & Management offers two undergraduate programs under sports management and sports science. Academic duration of both UG programs offered by IISM is 2 years and the basic eligibility criteria is 10+2. IISM Application Process
The International Institute of Sports Management (IISM) uses a well-rounded admission process to select students for its Sports Management programs. This process evaluates applicants on different criteria, giving everyone a fair chance to show their skills. To get admission, applicants must complete two stages as per the eligibility rules.
Admission Process for Sports Management Degrees:
Stage 1 of the admission process at IISM is different for Master’s/PGPs and Bachelor’s programs.
For Master’s and PGPs: It has two steps:
- Caselets
- SMAT & Overall Performance
For Bachelor’s programs: It also has two steps:
- Essay
- SMAT & Overall Performance
Caselets (for Master’s and PGPs)
In the first step of Stage 1, applicants receive four topics via email. Each topic is worth 20 marks, making a total of 80 marks. Applicants have two days to complete and email their Caselets to caselets@iismworld.in. These are evaluated by an expert.
The second step of the process includes Overall Performance and SMAT: Overall Performance evaluates academic scores, sports achievements, and extracurricular activities, totaling 20 marks.
Stage 2
In this stage a online personal interview conducted via video call, worth 120 marks.
Final Selection: The total score for both stages is 300 marks. To secure admission, applicants must achieve at least 60% overall across both stages. Final offer letters will be available on the candidate's dashboard. Successful candidates have one week to pay their fees and confirm their admission at IISM.
Admission Process for Sports Science Degrees:
The admission process for Sports Science focuses on identifying candidates with strong scientific aptitude, research skills, and a passion for sports and human physiology. Like the Sports Management program, it follows a two-stage process to select deserving students.
Stage 1 of the Admission Procedure:
Total Marks: 180 Stage 1 has three components: Sports Science Admissions Test (SSAT) – 80 marks Statement of Purpose (SOP) – 80 marks Overall Performance – 20 marks (evaluates academic scores, sports achievements, and extracurricular activities). About SSAT The SSAT is an online entrance test that assesses a candidate's scientific aptitude, research skills, and passion for sports and human physiology.
SSAT for Bachelor of Sports Science:
- Logical Reasoning and Verbal (communication) Ability - 20 marks
- Sports Intellect – 16 marks
- Physics – 12 marks
- Chemistry – 12 marks
- Biology – 20 marks
SSAT for Master of Sports Science:
- Human Anatomy/Physiology/Biomechanics – 20 marks
- Logical Reasoning – 20 marks
- History of Sports/Acts/Laws – 20 marks
- Verbal Reasoning/Verbal Ability – 20 marks
About the SOP
Candidates write about their academic interests, education background in sports, industrial or coaching experience, reasons for choosing sports science, long-term goals, and the skills they aim to acquire through the program.
Candidates must also submit documents supporting their academic and extracurricular achievements when applying for SSAT.
Qualifying Criteria for Stage 2:
To qualify for Stage 2, candidates must score at least 50% in Stage 1. Those who do not meet this can reapply for SSAT.
Stage 2 of the Admission Procedure:
- Total Marks: 120
- Shortlisted candidates from Stage 1 will attend an online Panel Interaction (PI) round.
Final Selection:
To secure admission, candidates must achieve a minimum of 60% across Stage 1 and Stage 2 combined. Successful candidates will receive their selection letter on the institute’s portal.
