Lexicon MILE: Factors Affecting the Cut-Off
The are various factors that decide the cut-off of the institute. Such factors are mentioned below.
- The availability of seats at the institute: If seats available for the program are limited and the number of students who applied for the seat is high, then the cut-off is set high.
- The hardness level of the entrance exam: If the entrance exam’s level is set high then fewer candidates will qualify for the exam and the cut-off may be low.
- The number of students who applied for the course: only eligible students who have qualified for the exam will be offered admission to the program at the institute.
