The long-held aspiration of the Mithila community led to the establishment of Lalit Narayan Mithila University in Kameshwaranagar, Darbhanga. Admission to undergraduate programs at LNMU is determined by a student's performance on the qualifying exam. Admission to the B.tech degree, however, is determined by the results of the University's combined admission test and engineering entrance exam (CAT-EAT).
