Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) in West Bengal is now taking applications for the 2024 academic year. MAKAUT offers undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), Ph.D., diploma, and certificate programs in a variety of fields, including engineering, science, management, pharmacy, and technology. The university's entrance examinations, as well as other state-level exams, are the primary admission criteria.

Courses & Admission Criteria

MAKAUT offers over 100 courses at several academic levels. The flagship degrees, B.Tech and M.Tech, are widely sought after by students. Entrance exams for these degrees include CET, JEMAT , GAT B, PGET, as well as state-level exams like WBJEE, JECA, JEHOM, and JELET.

1. Undergraduate courses.

MAKAUT provides a wide range of undergraduate degrees, including B.Tech, B.Sc., BBA, BCA, and more.

B.Tech is a four-year degree with specialisations in computer science and engineering, information technology, and electronics engineering. Admission is dependent on the WBJEE results. The course prices range between INR 12,300 and INR 2,32,300.

B.Sc.: The B.Sc. The program is offered in more than 20 specialisations. The first year price is INR 58,200. The university's CET serves as the admission process.

BBA: The BBA program offers specialisations in Business Analytics, Hospital Management, Risk Management, and Tourism & Travel Management. The total course fee is Rs. 1,76,300. Admission is based on the CET results.

BCA: The BCA program has a total capacity of 30 students and costs INR 1,76,300. Admission is based on the CET exam.

1. Postgraduate courses.

MAKAUT provides numerous postgraduate programs, such as M.Tech, MBA, MCA, and PG Diploma.

M.Tech: The M.Tech program offers 11 specialisations, including biotechnology, computer science and engineering, information technology, software engineering, data science, and artificial intelligence. Admission is dependent on the GATE or WB PGET results. The course fee ranges between INR 62,800 to INR 96,800.

MBA: The MBA program includes specialisations in Business Analytics and Hospital Administration. Admission is based on the WB JEMAT entrance examination. The total course price is Rs. 2,54,800.

MCA: The MCA program lasts two years. Admissions are based on WB JECA scores. The fee structure has not been established, however the application process is identical to that of other postgraduate courses.

PG Diploma: MAKAUT provides PG Diplomas in a variety of fields, including Broadcasting Engineering, Capital Market & Investment, Computer Forensics, Cyber Crime and Related Laws, Forensic Science & Related Laws, Internet TV, Content Management, and Social Media Marketing. Admission is through an application process comparable to other postgraduate courses.

MAKAUT's Ph.D. programs provide a variety of specialisations, including Applied Mathematics, Applied Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Media Science, Travel and Tourism Management, and many more. Admission to Ph.D. programs needs a master's degree with at least 50% aggregate marks and passing the Research Entrance Test (RET).

How to apply for the B.Tech program:

Visit the official WBJEE website, wbjee.in.

Click on the 'New Registration' option to create your username and password.

Log in with the application number and password.

Fill your personal information such as category, domicile, religion, and nationality.

Choose three city zones to host WBJEE exam centres.

Upload scanned photos of required documents in the selected format.

The application cost is INR 500 (INR 400 for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B).
